Welcome to the Final Round of Madonna's 'The Immaculate Collection' survivor, and we are now down to the final 2, meaning that we lose the critically acclaimed 'Like A Prayer' which was released on March 1989 as the lead single from the album of the same name and showed Madonna moving towards a more mature direction. Written by Madonna and long time partner Patrick Leonard, the track heralded an artistic and personal approach to songwriting for Madonna, who believed that she needed to cater more to her adult audience. Thematically the song speaks about a passionate young girl in love with God, who becomes the only male figure in her life.

'Like A Prayer' uses pop/rock and incorporates Gospel music, as well as featuring a choir and along with a controversial music video which cost Madonna her Pepsi deal, but nonetheless it became a massive success by topping the charts in more than 20 countries including the UK and USA, of course becoming one her most biggest and iconic hits of her career.

So it's 'Papa Don't Preach' VS 'Vogue', and this time you'll be voting for your Favourite Song, so remember use your vote wisely and what you want to WIN.

Vogue for me! It's the ultimate feel good, get together song. It's lyrics describe exactly what the song makes you feel. It's stylish, it's dramatic; that intro just makes your anticipation froth and froth until the songs hits you with several peaks. You've got the chorus, the rap, that house piano beat that follows and has a moment to shine on its own... Such an empowering, escapist song.

Papa Don't Preach is just as worthy of taking the crown though. Like what Vogue does with escapism, Papa is the prime example of Madonna taking a serious talking point and decorating it in a pop song. There's such heartache and pain in the lyrics and the vocal is so desperate and crying out for the words to be heard, yet it's still a catchy, upbeat, pleasing pop song. Really clever song and one of Madonna's finest moments.

I've gone for Papa Don't Preach, but I'd be very happy with either song winning! Both are pop perfection.
