Wagwan BJSC, it's that time of year again. Your favourite huns at New Lexico will be once again hosting the nominations for BJSC TBO. And this year I'm not trying to fit it in around me running off to disneyland and have also had another go at hosting this thing (and we'll come back to that in a moment!) so hopefully it's a little bit less of a red hot mess than last year!

For the uninitiated, this end of year celebration is a way for us to celebrate the "best of the best" of the year gone by in BJSC. Think of it as a highly elaborate and more competitive version of a Buzzfeed listlicle. And the first stage of this competition is to narrow down the best of the best to a (relatively) more manageable list of 80 songs. And since these songs won their contests, they have automatically claimed the first ten spots in the Semi-Finals. These 10 songs are

From the remaining [insert number here] songs, you may nominate in each contest a further five songs to go forward to the semi finals for each of this year's contests. You may vote for your favourite songs (excluding the winners and non-qualifiers) from each contest as follows

1 point (your fifth favourite).

In each contest the SIX highest scoring entries in the nominations table will qualify for the semi-finals. Furthermore, the 10 best scoring in the nominations who didn't make the top six in their respective contests will be granted WILDCARD slots in the semi finals. This means that all of the contests will have six representatives as a minimum but could (potentially in a very crazy scenario) have as many as sixteen if we particularly loved that contest. So, in summary;

10 places go to the 10 winning songs from BJSC in 2018.
60 places go to the 6 most nominated songs in all of the 10 contests.
10 places go to the most nominated songs from the whole year who didn't make the top 6 of their respective contests.

Furthermore, there are two brand new innovations for this year's nominations! They are,

THE VOTING BONUS - This year, nominating in a contest that you yourself qualified for will give your entry in that contest a bonus prize of SEVEN POINTS. This replaces the deduction for non-voting and last year's...out there idea of having no deductions.

THE QUICK CONVERSION - Look, I know how it is, you're a busy modern financially successful business woman of the Serengeti, so this year we are giving you the opportunity to simply convert your votes from the year into TBO nominations (for instance, your 18 will receive your 7 points, your 15 will receive your 5 and so on...). If you wish to go for this option, please send me a PM by the deadline stating that you would like to go with the Quick Conversion Option. In order to maintain suspense, the number of people who have opted for this will not be revealed until after the results have been declared. This option also entitles you to receive the 7 point Voting Bonus.

I like these new ~innovations~, I'll still be doing nominations the traditional way as I'll probably want to slightly tweak some of my old top 5s now (though I doubt it'll look much different to if I did just take the lazy option). Hope this'll lead to a good turnout of nominations as it now doesn't even take any effort!!

Probably won't be getting anything through this year (though vote for them nonetheless x), although I suppose these new rules of sixteen could give me some hope! The results are usually totally random so I hope we get some nice surprises!

I'm hoping Vain/Ghost can get in, I tend to just have loads of like low top 10s or top 20s that don't have much chance in TBO (and even my winner flopped :lol:). other than when Grace won, but those two strike me as ones that might. Ghost in particular I'd love to do well as that's easily my favourite entry this year :wub:
