Biography

EDM production duo M-22 comprises Englishman Matt James and German Frank Sanders, who had separately made names for themselves with extensive behind-the-scenes songwriting and production experience for R&B and hip-hop artists such as Flo Rida, Pitbull, and Jason Derulo. Brought together by mutual friends for a writing session, the pair clicked instantly, bonding over a shared love of house music, particularly the '90s "French touch" sound. They wrote their first single, "Good to Be Loved," from start to finish on the very day they met, and named their project after that date -- March 22, 2015. The single, a smooth slice of slick, swinging deep house with an infectious vocal and piano hook, was an instant success. Championed by Pete Tong, it was widely played on British and German radio and racked up millions of plays on streaming services. Almost immediately they were offered a record deal by Swedish house supremo Sebastian Ingrosso. They signed to his Refune label, which swiftly released their follow-up single, "Inspiration," a tougher, bouncier, more dancefloor-focused track. Collaborations with Robin Schulz and Klingande followed, as well as remixes for Avicii, Sigala, Axwell & Ingrosso, and Sigma. The duo's third single, "First Time," featuring Medina, arrived in 2017. - iTunes

Biography

Dennis Lloyd is the alias of Nir Tibor, a heartfelt singer and frank lyricist, as well as a trumpeter and producer, with a dusky hybrid sound that organically incorporates classic soul influences. The Tel Aviv, Israel native debuted in 2015 with "Playa (Say That)," after which he spent a year based in Bangkok, Thailand, where he wrote and recorded dozens of new songs. A handful of additional singles and accompanying videos were released across 2016 and early 2017. The most successful of the bunch was "Nevermind," a ballad quickly streamed well over a million times and added to playlists of radio stations in Lloyd's home country. All the while, Lloyd was active as a performer in small venues and at festivals. - iTunes

Oh wow I never realised just how much of the soundtrack had made the chart, I assumed it was like a 16-20 track album for some reason :P

Was thinking this. Wonder if that's the lowest peaking song ever to make a year end top 100?

Nevermind is also quite good but nothing I'd listen to out of choice

Oh wow I never realised just how much of the soundtrack had made the chart, I assumed it was like a 16-20 track album for some reason :P

Yeah it's only 11 tracks! (The 8 that made it in here, Tightrope + 2 reprises). Tbh I sometimes forgot how short the soundtrack is, esp in comparison to most of the other musicals :kink:

Nevermind is a huge grower, found it really boring at first but I really enjoy it now!
Nevermind was such a random hit, after initially being big on Spotify I'm shocked it got as high as #13 on the sales chart! Love the song though!

Biography

Ariana Grande-Butera (/ˌɑːriˈɑːnə ˈɡrɑːndeɪ/; born June 26, 1993) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Born in Florida to a family of Italian origin, she began her career in 2008 in the Broadway musical 13, before playing the role of Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon television series Victorious (2010–2013) and in the spinoff Sam & Cat (2013–2014). She has also appeared in other theatre and television roles and has lent her voice to animated television and films.

Grande's music career began in 2011 with the soundtrack Music from Victorious. Since then, Grande has earned three number-one albums on the US Billboard 200 with Yours Truly (2013), My Everything (2014), and Sweetener (2018). She has also attained a number-two album with Dangerous Woman (2016). Her upcoming fifth studio album Thank U, Next is expected to be released in 2018. Furthermore, Grande has earned six top-five singles on the US Billboard Hot 100, including "Problem", "Break Free", "Bang Bang", "Side to Side", "No Tears Left to Cry", and the chart-topping "Thank U, Next". Grande is the first artist in the history of the chart to have the lead singles from each of their first four albums debut within the top-ten, and in 2014, she continuously charted inside the top-ten for 34 weeks and had the most top 10 singles of any artist that year. She has completed two arena tours: The Honeymoon Tour in 2015 and Dangerous Woman Tour in 2017.

Critics have compared Grande's wide vocal range to that of Mariah Carey. Her accolades include three American Music Awards, three MTV Europe Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards and six Grammy Award nominations. All four of her albums have been certified platinum by the RIAA. She has supported a range of charities and has a large following on social media. In 2016, Time named Grande one of the 100 most influential people in the world on their annual list. In 2018, Billboard named her Woman of the Year. - Wikipedia

This is ok, except for that weird screaming video. Her two new ones are miiiles better.
Was thinking this. Wonder if that's the lowest peaking song ever to make a year end top 100?
Probably (though 'Mr Brightside' made this year's with a yearly peak of only #72).

A lot of its streams will be from people streaming the entire soundtrack anyway, I doubt it'd be Y/E top 100 based on just the song. This is why I wish the OCC could differentiate between albums and singles streams properly.

Similar to the Ed album tracks last year which were supposedly more popular as songs than certain other big hits.

'God Is A Woman' is by far my favorite song Ariana's released this year. This means 'breathin' hasn't made the top 100 though, how disappointing! :(
