17. Inner Ninja [Ft Classified] | Avg.6.285

Highest Scores: 9: [The Poguesmith, SGrey], Lowest Scores: 3: [scene]

At #17 we have another collaboration 'Inner Ninja', which is a song by Canadian hip hop artist Classified and was originally released in November 2012 and featured David Myles. Later re-recorded in November 2013 to feature Olly Murs and wasn't given a UK release which is probably why it didn't get that many scores on here, and would have been in last place if this countdown if based on points, but due to it's relatively high average its placed at #17 on here. The song was quite successful in its original form by reaching #5 in Canada and made top 40 in Ireland, Olly's version managed to chart in New Zealand where it made top 40 and a minor dent on the Australian charts at #60. The song is pretty cool and catchy with some great lyrics and if you're a fan of this sort of thing, then this will be right up your street and to be honest I was surprised that more people didn't know this song on here, and this has done pretty okay all things considering.

16. Unpredictable [Ft Louisa Johnson] | Avg.6.339

Highest Scores: 10: [Rossco, Cameron], Lowest Scores: -1: [The Poguesmith]

At #16 we have lose yet another feature, 'Unpredictable', released in June 2017 as the 4th and final single from his 5th album '24 Hrs', and features fellow X-Factor winner Louisa Johnson. Originally recorded as a solo version and peaked at #32 on the UK singles chart. If this was released about 3 or 4 years ago, then this could have definitely been a much bigger hit, but in this day and age a lot of artists have struggled with the downloads/streaming era of music, and its a shame really as this is a really nice summery pop song, with a funky bass-line groove and snappy but fun lyrics. Re-recording this as a duet was a good idea as both Olly and Louisa vocals really compliment each other really well, and finding great balance, and of course have real chemistry together. Okay it doesn't really set itself apart from Olly's earlier releases, in-fact this really sounds familiar, however as it is its better than the original version and has a fantastic music video to boot.

So in all a good effort. Also of note this was originally a bit higher, but the -1 score really spiked it and saw a tumble and even going neck and neck with 'Moves' for a while, but thankfully this pulled out in front.

Both 'Inner Ninja' & 'Unpredictable' are in roughly the correct places. They're ok but he has much, MUCH better. 'Moves' is SO bland and uninteresting. I'm so annoyed he used that as the lead single!

Loving the results of this countdown so far. No MAJOR eliminations and we're getting to the top quality stuff now.

15. Oh My Goodness | Avg.6.351

Highest Scores: 11: [Riser], 10: [The Poguesmith], Lowest Scores: -1: [Tawdry Hepburn]

At #15 and now we're starting to get to the more well known stuff, 'Oh My Goodness', which was released in April 2012 as the 3rd and final single from his 2nd album 'In Case You Didn't Know' and while not as successful as the album's first 2 singles, it still managed to become his 6th top 20 hit by reaching #13 on the UK singles chart, as well as having some success worldwide by managing top 40 peaks in Ireland, Austria, Belgium & Germany. The song is about love at first sight and tells a story of the feeling you get when you experience it, and he says he got the inspiration for the song from his own personal experience. The song is upbeat and quite catchy, and Olly's cheeky character shines right through and along with a colourful music video which really lifts the song in my opinion, and while it doesn't quite scale the heights of the mammoth first 2 singles, its still a fun time.

14. Years & Years | Avg.6.6

Highest Scores: 10: [sGrey, PAJ88], Lowest Scores: 2.5: [coi]

At #14 we say goodbye to yet another single from Olly's 5th album '24 Hrs', 'Years & Years', which was released in December 2016 as the album's 3rd single and peaked at a mere #83 on the UK singles chart, and this also means that there's only one left from this era left in the running. This proved to be somewhat of a dark horse in this rate, by starting off more towards the bottom, then started getting a few high scores and finally settling for a top 15 placing on here over some of his much higher charting hits. This also had a few non rates and think only his hard core fan base will probably remember this, as it kinda came and went without much of any fan fare, which is a shame as this is definitely far better than the 2nd single 'Grow Up', (thankfully its done better here at the very least). This is an expansive mid-tempo ballad with a chorus that's lifted with some wonderful strings, making this a very nice somewhat dramatic but classy little number, that deserved much more than it got.

Any guesses as to what will drop next...I'll give you a hint it will be one of his hits that didn't make the UK top 10, so that will leave you with 5 options.

Edited by SamJudd

Really enjoy both of those. In fact I'm not sure there's anything left I don't enjoy.

I'm going to guess Right Place, Right Time is next out. Which will be gutting </3

13. Right Place Right Time | Avg.6.607

Highest Scores: 11: [sweetButJonjo], 10: [WhovilleOdyssey], Lowest Scores: 1: [scene]

SweetButJonjo guessed correctly as bowing out in 13th is his fave Olly Murs single, 'Right Place Right Time', which was released in August 2013 as the 4th single from his 3rd studio album of the same name and peaked at #27 on the UK singles chart becoming his 10th top 40 hit. Olly also performed this song & 'Troublemaker', when he guest starred in an episode of American teen drama '90210' and 2 days after the song was released it came with a digital download bundle which included a live version of this track. This had quite a different sound for him at the time, by using an uplifting synth pop production with a house piano riff that forms the basis of the verses and a sampled drum loop. All of which attempts to give the chorus an air of euphoria and despite some fantastic vocal techniques by Mr Murs himself, I just find the melody a little bit flat (sorry guys I know a lot of people love this), but I'm not one of them, the taste of dubstep in the bridge was a bit pointless and doesn't really add much to the song and to me this just screams safe song for the radio, and the music video was bit of a let down for me, one of those usual tour videos a lot of artists use when they're well late into an era and really didn't make me enjoy it more. On a lighter note there is something rather refreshing about this and the 2nd half of the song is far better and less restrained. Its just on the whole this feels more like an album track and never screamed single to me. Well that's just my opinion..

12. Army Of Two | Avg.6.703

Highest Scores: 10: [DexTheHalls, JerdNoseReindeer, WhovilleOdyssey], Lowest Scores: 3: [scene]

At #12 we say goodbye to another 'Right Place Right Time' single, 'Army Of Two', which was released on March 2013 as the album's 2nd single and reached the same place its ranked here #12 and lasted several weeks on the charts and went on to sell over 200,000 copies, earning itself a Silver disc, as well as experiencing success internationally with top 20 peaks in New Zealand, Ireland and Australia and top 40 peaks in 2 other countries. In its original album form its almost 5 minutes long, but the radio mix trims off about a minute, with a more condensed sounding ending. At the album's launch he stated that he intended this to be released as the lead single with 'Troublemaker' following it, however these plans were scrapped due to his international promotion commitments in Europe and America. Olly wrote this song as a tribute to his fans, whose referred as the 'Murs Army' hence the title of the song. Yes the song is completely cheesy and you can definitely hear the Robbie Williams influence all over it (sounds like one of his song but can't think which one), but I think at this point in his career he's earned the right to be and his gratefulness really seeps through with verses catchy and clear, although one slight criticism is that the chorus is a little pitchy and screechy, but other than that he's created a decent and nice second single.

Hopefully Please Don't Let Me Go is the one we let go of~

I wouldn't be too disappointed if it was Thinking of Me or Busy either

Noooo. :snif: RPRT is so good. It deserves better than just #13 :( but I'm not surprised it didn't finish higher. Although I'm annoyed Army Of Bland beat it. :(

My predixxxx

Dear Darlin'

Kiss Me

Up [Ft Demi Lovato]

You Don't Know Love

Heart Skips A Beat [Ft Rizzle Kicks]

Dance With Me Tonight

Busy

Troublemaker [Ft Flo-Rida]

Wrapped Up [Ft Travie McCoy]

Thinking Of Me

Please Don't Let Me Go

For the first time ever on Buzzjack, I genuinely don't know or have the vaguest clue on what is likely to win here..

Army Of Two has aged terribly! Quite a few of these have actually but none more so than that one.

I'd bet 'Dance With Me Tonight' will be the winner. Rooting for 'Heart Skips a Beat' though.

I think it's actually a pretty decent selection left except 'Please Don't Let Me Go' and 'Thinking of Me'.

11. Kiss Me | Avg.7.326

Highest Scores: 11: [scene], 10: [JerdNoseReindeer, The Poguesmith, SweetButJonjo, UltraReputation], Lowest Scores: 1: [coi]

At #11 and taking quite a big leap average wise is 'Kiss Me', which was released in October 2015 and taken from the re-release edition of his 4th album 'Never Been Better' and sees him tackling some new ground, taking a more mature approach with his sound (something that would be better explored on his next proper release), and upon release it became another successful hit by reaching #11 on the UK singles chart, with a lengthy run of 19 weeks (13 of which were in the top 40), and went on to sell over 400,000 copies and earned itself a Gold disc. Now this is a really good song with a strong up-tempo beat with his vocals clean and strong and perfectly intertwines with the funky guitar riff that makes this song oh so great and on the whole makes for a refreshing change of pace for him, while at the same time doesn't alienate any fans of his older stuff.

Hahaaa, number 11 in both this rate and the UK chart! Glad it missed the top ten in both!
