Yay at Party for One scraping top 50! :wub: One of my songs of last year, such a feel good song and video combo!

How come In My Blood suddenly dropped out of the top 100 from #38?!

Say Something is an utterly dreadful song, I'm very surprised it managed to hang around for so long. Such a terrible era for JT :(

How come In My Blood suddenly dropped out of the top 100 from #38?!

Not out of the top 100, just the top 75 (it fell to #88). Just ACR kicking in.

40 Banx & Ranx (ft. Ella Eyre & Yxng Bane) - Answerphone 319pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 70-66-49-25-18-07-08-06-07-05-07-33-32-40-37-45-54-57-53-67-> 20wks

Kicking off the Top 40 is Banx & Ranx with the help of Ella Eyre and Yxng Bane with their huge Top 5 hit 'Answerphone'. It feels fairly forgotten about already but I absolutely love it, a complete bop and one of my favourite songs of last year :wub:

39 Zara Larsson - Ruin My Life 321pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 31-28-22-14-15-11-11-14-17-35-09-12-17-23-64-> 15wks

At #39 is Zara Larsson's anticipated comeback single 'Ruin My Life', showcasing a more mellow attempt for Zara. It became another Top 10 hit for Zara but I'm not too sure if it'll be well remembered, I'm certain she is capable of better and I look forward to her album which will hopefully come this year!

38 Benny Blanco (ft. Halsey & Khalid) - Eastside 324pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 52-40-23-12-04-03-01-02-02-02-02-08-11-16-17-21-26-27-29-31-51-50-51-X-29-31-39-44-50-54-55-57-> 31wks

At #38 is the debut single from producer Benny Blanco with the help of Halsey and Khalid on vocals for the song. It reached #01 and has become a huge hit in both the UK and the US, propelling Halsey's career to new heights within the UK. I know a lot of people aren't fond of it, but there's something really special and soothing about it, it has never gotten old for me and was one of my favourite #01 hits from last year!

37 Ellie Goulding (ft. Diplo & Swae Lee) - Close To Me 328pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 36-34-30-21-18-21-17-28-57-43-47-57-25-27-27-> 15wks

At #37 is Ellie Goulding with her comeback single 'Close To Me' which became another Top 20 for Ms Goulding. It enlisted the help of Diplo and Swae Lee for a cute pop song that on paper sounds like a big hit, it's Spotify friendly, radio friendly and features a decent rapper / producer, it's hard to pinpoint why Ellie's comeback wasn't the hit we and she had hoped for, I think the fact it was trying too hard to be a hit might have been a part of it though! She is capable of much better.

36 Robyn - Missing U 328pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: DNC

At #36 is Robyn with her comeback single 'Missing U', a broody emotional dancefloor pop song that we have come to expect from Robyn. Although it may not live up to the magic of some of her previous hits, it is still a melodic and emotional pop song showing off what she and only she can do so well. It didn't chart at all but we love you Ms Robyn! Excited to see her live in April!

35 Hailee Steinfeld (ft. Alesso, Florida Georgia Line & Watt) - Let Me Go 337pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 70-60-44-55-75-X-50-42-46-44-42-39-30-33-37-34-33-32-32-38-46-53-> 21wks

At #35 is singer/actress Hailee Steinfeld with 'Let Me Go' from earlier on in the year which managed to get Hailee a Top 30 hit with decent Spotify and Radio support. She has yet to release a proper single since this unfortunately and seems to have focused on her acting career as Bumblebee was a huge success for her! I'm surprised to see this so high, but I'm happy, a perfect pop song - a little generic, yes, but so uplifting and a bop :wub: I hope Hailee comes back soon!

34 Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino - In My Mind 362pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 68-51-36-15-16-14-08-08-05-07-08-10-08-40-42-56-54-60-71-74-> 20wks

At #34 is one of the biggest dance songs of last year, Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino with 'In My Mind' which heavily samples Gigi D'Agostino's 'I'll Fly With You'. It was one of the most unusual hits of the year for me, dance songs rarely do well, especially not ones that are deep house! It's not my cup of tea really but I can appreciate it for what it is and it was nice to see something different in the charts for once!

33 Drake - Nice For What 363pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 01-02-03-03-02-02-02-02-04-20-24-25-X-72-> 13wks

At #33 is Drake with his second number one of the year, 'Nice For What', a R&B/Hip Hop song that is all about empowering women as seen by the video also which features a lot of well known Hollywood females as cameos. As far as Drake songs go, this was one of my favourites of his from last year and I'm pleased to see that BuzzJack agree that it was the best of his singles from last year!

32 M-22 (ft. Medina) - First Time 386pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 62-60-53-36-33-26-24-31-24-28-24-25-22-26-20-24-26-24-71-72-> 20wks

At #32 is M-22 with 'First Time' featuring Medina on vocals, and is personally one of my favourite dance songs of last year, that chorus gets me every time :wub: Medina is perfect on vocals and it sounded great in the hot weather last year. M-22 have had two singles since, both of which have failed to set the charts alight, so it seems likely they will remain a one hit wonder.

31 Marshmello (ft. Bastille) - Happier 387pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 31-16-15-06-05-04-02-03-03-04-05-23-24-28-32-53-54-58-X-26-35-45-48-57-29-31-36-> 26wks

Keeping on the trend of Dance songs in this section, at #31 is Marshmello with the help of Bastille on vocals with 'Happier' a UK & US #02 hit single! The vocals and video (which is one of the best of the year) created a emotional yet uplifting song about happiness. It's not my usual thing but I really enjoy this whenever I hear it.
Pretty good result there for 'Nice For What' :heart: (really like all the other songs in that post apart from 'Let Me Go' (which is ok I guess, much better than most Hailee songs) as well).
Let me BOP *.* I can't believe that I shunned this when it was originally released (in September 2017! *_*) An absolute tune and it has turned me into a Halienator

30 Camila Cabello - Never Be The Same 413pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 46-61-71-37-29-07-15-14-10-14-10-11-13-13-19-18-20-44-59-73-> 20wks

At #30 is Camila Cabello with the followup single to her huge #01 hit 'Havana', 'Never Be The Same'. It was a Top 10 hit for her in both UK & US, and showed a softer side to Camila after 'Crying In The Club' and 'Havana'. I really thought it would flop at the time as ballad singles rarely do well, I'm so pleased it was a hit though, such a grower and has gone on to become one of my faves from her. Her album was my fave of last year too :wub: Really excited to see what she comes out with next!

29 Sigala (ft. Ella Eyre, Meghan Trainor & French Montana) - Just Got Paid 414pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 51-37-33-17-15-14-12-12-13-11-43-42-73-X-55-69-73-> 16wks

At #29 is Sigala with the help of Ella Eyre, Meghan Trainor and French Montana! 'Just Got Paid' was another Top 20 hit for Sigala and narrowly missed out on the Top 10 :( 'Just Got Paid' is generic and what we have come to expect of Sigala, but that doesn't stop it being the feel good Summer anthem that we all deserve! Ella and Meghan work together on the song fantastically and even French Montana's part is decent! Deserved better!

28 Lady GaGa & Bradley Cooper - Shallow 416pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 13-06-04-01-01-02-02-03-05-32-38-44-75-24-21-27-31-26-26-21-21-> 21wks (so far)

At #28 is Lady GaGa and Bradley Cooper with one of the biggest soundtrack singles of last year in 'Shallow' which went to go on to be GaGa's biggest hit in years and first #01 in almost ten years! It has also become huge in the US and won an Oscar, yas GaGa indeed! The success for this has been amazing, and so unpredictable, I'm not massive on the song but can appreciate it in the context of the film. It should hopefully set up GaGa's next era nicely too!

27 Kendrick Lamar & SZA - All The Stars 420pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 33-36-37-37-28-11-05-07-08-08-10-25-30-34-39-59-65-62-66-72-> 20wks

Talking of soundtrack singles, at #27 is Kendrick Lamar and SZA with 'All The Stars' from the equally massive 'Black Panther' movie of last year. I was not expecting this to do better than 'Shallow' but here we go! I personally prefer it (sorry), the chorus is absolutely everything and Kendrick & SZA sound amazing together, I would love to hear them on a record again.

26 Dua Lipa - IDGAF 449pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 55-38-14-04-04-04-04-03-03-03-05-06-17-19-21-28-38-36-44-47-51-56-68-> 24wks

At #26 and missing out on the final round is Dua Lipa with the followup single to the huge 'New Rules' in 'IDGAF' which went on to be a huge Top 5 hit single for her with a stylish video to suit. Other than 'New Rules', this was the standout for me when I first listened to the album and I still go back to it frequently. This isn't the last of Dua on this countdown however, she still has 'Electricity' to come!

25 Marshmello & Anne-Marie - FRIENDS 300pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 19-09-05-05-04-04-04-06-06-06-25-25-27-29-30-30-42-45-49-49-62-68-66-62-65-> 25wks

Placing last out of the songs that made it through to the final is Marshmello and Anne-Marie with their 'friendzone anthem' 'FRIENDS' which turned things around for Anne-Marie after the relative flop in 'Heavy'. The song got really old for me personally very quickly, F-R-I-N-S as well is unable to be unheard by me now :'). I still like the middle eight, but I find Anne-Marie really obnoxious on it tbh.

24 Elena Foureira - Fuego 314pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 64-> 1wk

At #24 is Eurovision and Cqmerqn favourite Elena Foureira with 'Fuego', it wasn't the winner or UK entrant that was a fave this year, it ended up being Cypriot third placer Elena! It is also the lowest charting song in the Top 25, but it is a bop and a half! I like 'Toy' but this should have won and it sounds amazing on a night out.

23 Cheat Codes & Little Mix - Only You 327pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 32-40-28-19-16-14-17-14-13-40-39-49-53-65-> 14wks

At #23 is Cheat Codes and Little Mix with 'Only You', a Top 20 hit for them in the Summer of last year. It's generic as they come and sounds like a 'Anywhere' rip off, but it is a fun pop song which is missing! It also greatly reminds me of last Summer having a drunken dance to this song :wub:

22 The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar - Pray For Me 420pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 15-13-11-12-14-17-21-23-32-> 9wks

At #22 is the second single from the Black Panther soundtrack to feature, this time from The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar. I personally prefer 'All The Stars' but this is suprisingly decent given the artists involved, both of which I'm not too usually fond of. I'm surprised to see this as high as this and to reach the final as well!

21 Panic! At The Disco - High Hopes 449pts (Wildcard)
UK Chart Run: 70-56-52-56-51-37-34-35-34-34-25-21-22-20-17-12-13-18-19-24-25-69-X-42-45-48-53-49-45-43-42-> 30wks (so far)

At #21 is one of the most unexpected hits of the year from Panic! At The Disco with 'High Hopes' which became their biggest hit to date after not setting the charts alight for years! It's one of their best though, a strong pop melodic chorus with an alternative edge thus bringing in new fans too. Will be interesting to see if they can get another hit but I'd say it's unlikely and this is a fluke, but we will see.

20 Little Mix (ft. Nicki Minaj) - Woman Like Me 368pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 05-06-02-03-03-02-02-07-08-41-60-18-28-40-50-62-> 16wks

Kicking off the Top 20 is Little Mix with their comeback single 'Woman Like Me' which brought on mixed opinions due to it being a Jess Glynne demo and having Nicki Minaj feature after a controversial year for her, it also saw them adopt a more mature sound which didn't go down too great with fans. It was however another Top 5 single for them, it has won me over but it's not my favourite from them - I think there is actually better on their album!

19 Clean Bandit (ft. Marina & Luis Fonsi) - Baby 384pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 33-38-32-26-25-24-25-49-15-17-23-28-29-> 13wks

At #19 is Clean Bandit with the help off BuzzJack fave Marina as well as Luis Fonsi to create the Spanish inspired bop that is 'Baby'. It brought them a break from their Top 5 streak and only managed to chart at #15, meaning that Marina is still yet to get a Top 10 hit after all these years! :( I personally think it's slightly dated in sound but it is still a good song all the same!

18 George Ezra - Paradise 385pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 70-51-X-61-45-30-19-12-05-02-04-05-04-05-07-07-08-08-06-12-11-12-29-28-34-38-34-39-44-42-47-53-54-63-66-69-74-X-46-64-70-> 39wks

At #18 is George Ezra who had the biggest year of his career, mostly thanks to this song 'Paradise' reviving his career as his initial comeback single 'Don't Matter Now' flopped at #64. It's not my sort of thing really but it does sound kind of euphoric/feel good in sound and it's easy to see why it was a hit, I'm surprised this was favoured over 'Shotgun' on here however!

17 Au/Ra & CamelPhat - Panic Room 396pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 73-72-55-50-44-39-40-38-35-35-38-33-30-33-34-48-> 17wks

At #17 is dance hit 'Panic Room' from Au/Ra and CamelPhat. One of the more surprising hits of the year, but it caught on fairly well and hung on to the end of the chart for a while, it also was a fave on BuzzJack. It's not my sort of thing at all but here it is!

16 Sigrid - Strangers 398pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 26-14-10-13-15-15-15-16-34-36-33-35-47-55-72-> 15wks

At #16 is 2018 breakthrough act Sigrid with her Top 10 single 'Strangers' which she has recently finally been able to get a Top 40 follow up with in current sing;e 'Don't Feel Like Crying'. Her album is also finally released this week, how it fare I am not too sure however. The song is a racing pop anthem which is lacking from the charts and she has an incredible amount of likability about her.

15 Years & Years - Sanctify 406pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 25-30-29-29-29-35-47-51-65-> 9wks

At #15 is the comeback single from Years & Years in 'Sanctify', it debuted and peaked at #25, thankfully followup single 'If You're Over Me' did considerably better even if being a weaker song overall. This showed a darker side for Y&Y therefore not being quite as accessible as previous hits, it still has fans on here though as it is their highest showing of their three singles released from last year!

14 5 Seconds Of Summer - Youngblood 419pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 71-72-X-63-52-37-22-13-11-12-11-08-04-05-05-07-15-18-25-30-29-37-38-41-42-51-41-49-67-X-63-72-> 30wks

At #14 is 5 Seconds Of Summer with their surprise global hit 'Youngblood' which went on to become their biggest hit to date! It's a catchy pop song with great vocals, I'm not too sure how it stood out from their previous flops and became such a hit but there you go!

13 Calvin Harris (ft. Sam Smith) - Promises 432pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 04-02-01-01-01-01-01-02-01-02-03-04-18-23-22-38-46-45-68-21-27-30-38-42-50-50-50-37-45-> 29wks (so far)

At #13 is the highest male lead song from Calvin Harris and Sam Smith in their huge #01 hit of last year, 'Promises'. It also features backing vocals from Jessie Reyez which remain uncredited, a soulful dance song from Sam at his best. Easy to see why it was a hit as radio ate it up, it's a bit bland in my opinion but I can understand the love somewhat!

12 Rita Ora - Let You Love Me 434pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 14-06-05-06-05-06-05-04-05-14-22-34-40-72-23-29-41-45-54-62-60-75-> 22wks

At #12 is Rita Ora with 'Let You Love Me', bouncing back from flop single 'Girls' like it wasn't anything! It became another Top 5 hit for Rita and is, in my opinion, one of her best songs to date - it has a sense of longing and is full of hooks/melody, the exact song I want from Rita and I was thrilled to see it become such a hit for her!

11 Silk City & Dua Lipa - Electricity 437pts (Final)
UK Chart Run: 15-10-07-04-08-09-09-10-11-39-50-46-X-61-74-> 14wks

Just missing out on the Top 10 is dance act Silk City with the help of Dua Lipa in 'Electricity', a huge dance/pop anthem that became a Top 5 hit for them both and topped off another amazing year for Dua! A great video to paired, showing that Dua has IT once more. I really thought this was going to be even bigger than it was, it's better than 'One Kiss' imo (which is yet to come).

Clean Bandit (ft. Demi Lovato) - Solo

Ooh yas Sigrid! *.* Strangers is still by far the best thing that she's ever done but I am pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of her album. I'm surprised to see Baby so high as I thought Buzzjack hated it compared to Clean Bandit's other singles from the album but I'm not complaining

Gutted to see Rita fail to make the top ten :( By far my favourite chart hit of last year and rightfully a huge hit in the chart too!

Loving the diversity in that top ten :lol:

Top 10:

Ariana Grande - Breathin

Ariana Grande - God Is A Woman

Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry

Ariana Grande - Thank U, Next

Despite how people feel about the quality of the Sweetener album itself, it's hard to deny how impeccable that singles run is.
