7th. I'll Remember = 9 votes



Welcome to round 8 of Madonnas Something To Remember survivor polls and the latest song to lose its place is the ever wonderful I'll Remember, receiving 9 votes which so far is the highest amount we've encountered so far. Released in March 1994 and coming off the major backlash she received after the Erotica era as well as the 'sex'book and the box office Turkey starring role in 'Body of Evidence' and it was time for a radical change in image and sound and so this was born in an attempt to re-connect with fans and the public, thankfully it worked as it became a critical & commercial success by reaching a respectable #2 peak in the USA and top 10 in the UK, as well as featuring and being used as the main theme for the hit movie With Honours as well as a Grammy nomination.
So not too shabby for someone whose many had seen was on the way out at that time and just goes to show how successfully Madonna can reinvent herself as the reigning Queen of pop.


So just 6 left in the running now, same rules apply just vote for your least fave.

Oh Father gets my vote now

Rain for me, but everything that is left is like essential Madonna balladry.

 

It wouldn't do anything commercially but I'd love to see a potential Part 2 tracking list of this album.

Probably keep this open until Monday and on the next round and considering that we're down the the final 5, I might do another points ranking, like I did a couple of rounds ago, or a favourite poll instead of a least fave, and the one(s) with no or lowest amount of votes will be out,
