I've gone against consensus and think Bastille will get it. They've got a much larger streaming presence then Bruce or Madge which I think might just tip the scales in their favour.

Posted this in the Madonna AF:

Done some calculations using the first week sales for each artists' last two studio albums to work out what their new albums may debut with:

Bruce Springsteen

74,401 | Wrecking Ball (#1, March 2012)

48,620 | High Hopes (#1, January 2014) down 34.65%

31,800 | Western Stars

Madonna

56,335 | MDNA (#1, April 2012)

37,245 | Rebel Heart (#2, March 2015) down 33.89%

24,600 | Madame X

Bastille

56,572 | Bad Blood (#1, March 2013)

36,039 | Wild World (#1, September 2016) down 36.3%

23,000 | Doom Days

Not perfect by any means. The album market continued to drop between the beginning of 2014 and the end of 2016 and streaming is stronger in the albums than it was in 2016 and my workings don't consider that.

Madonna has cd , cd deluxe , cassette, black vinyl, clear vinyl and box set.

She is also making you buy the cd if you get tour tickets .

She could win .

I'm biased and will stick with Madame X she has a fan base thats curious to her new sound and with 5 songs being released as tasters ( 2 already heard a 3rd tomorrow) I think the crown will be madonnas

Plus there's pre orders various versions available & the tour which will be surely announced for UK by time album is released as dares already confirmed for USA

MADONNA No 1 please

would be funny if Bruce misses cos he didn't put it out was cassette and Madonna did :D

I'm surprised how popular the cassettes actually are. Last year The 1975's album sold the most cassettes in a week since one of the Now! albums in 2002.

I suppose they are more collector's items.

What's next, the minidisc? :P

Bruce.

I legit think Bastlle will push their album back, nothing they've released recently has done with the exception of happiness.

Bastille just released their lead single 5 days ago, give them time :)

A boxed set of 78rpm shellac discs. You may need to Google that.

Funnily enough the new Mark Ronson album is being released on minidisc!
