February 9, 20214 yr No one really decides singles or films videos like that though - you need backing tracks in order, plans for how to shoot things, who sings what etc etc. I didn't mean they literally decided on the day or days before just somewhere in the pipeline leading up the video shoot being planned. But yeh probably not how it happened anyway. Just Can't Get Enough is top 20 on Norwegian iTunes... random! Must be an advert or something. Edited February 9, 20214 yr by JulianNial
February 19, 20214 yr 'Finest Selection' is now Gold! I'd love another of their albums to get there! 'Higher' is very much on the cusp of Platinum and I should imagine 'Issues' and 'Just Can't Get Enough' can't be far off Gold now.
February 19, 20214 yr How many sales is gold again, 100,000? Pull through Higher!! I wonder if higher could outsell What About Us? It’s always higher on streaming playlists
February 19, 20214 yr How many sales is gold again, 100,000? Pull through Higher!! I wonder if higher could outsell What About Us? It’s always higher on streaming playlists Gold is 400,000 sales and you knew that  I'm sure only last update 'Issues' was around 350,000 and 'JCGE' was on '320,000' I'm imagining Higher is around the 590,000 mark more or less around 20,000 behind 'What About Us' and yes 'Higher' is catching it up fast with the streams.
March 7, 20214 yr With 'Mollie King' being in the spotlight today on Buzzjack, I thought I'd give you an approximate sales update for The Sats albums. albums: Chasing Lights (400,000) Headlines! (290,000) Finest Selection: Greatest Hits (100,000) On Your Radar (93,000) Wordshaker (91,000) Living For The Weekend (50,000) Headlines!, On Your Radar, Wordshaker and Living For The Weekend could all collect new certifications relatively soon. Singles wise 'Higher' will be their next song to go Platinum and their cover of 'Just Can't Get Enough' and 'Issues' are next set to go Gold. In regards to singles going 'Silver', I'd say 'Work' could get there eventually, I predict it to be on around 160,000 sales right now, so it might take YEARS. Edited March 7, 20214 yr by Juliannnial
March 7, 20214 yr Chasing Lights was just below Chemistry by Girls Aloud in a 2019 OCC list of best selling girl band albums; Chemistry was on 395k that year so I don’t think Chasing Lights will have sold much more than its 2013 total of 385k. Headlines was just below One Touch by Sugababes on the list. Last know total for One Touch was 220k in 2009 but I doubt it’s added that many sales to that total.

Oops, sorry dodgy Twitter source, I'll lower it to around 400,000 since that's much more realistic. Maybe the source was supposed to say 405,000?
March 18, 20214 yr Greatest Hits Megamix is 133 on iTunes. Another campaign? Yeh it was a Twitter campaign which was inspired by our 'Back To You' campaign.
March 19, 20214 yr Well... at least it did "something", I was going to help out but I already have Finest Selection downloaded.
March 22, 20214 yr Has there been any interviews where one of the girls has said the reason why the group never came back together? I have watched interviews from round about the greatest hits era circa 2014 and they always said a new album was on its way and they weren’t splitting, I’m quite curious to know what actually happened

My understanding is that the two (or three?) most popular tracks don't contribute to the "sales" of an album and that one had sold like 20-25k at the end of the chart-run. I'd also assume that a lot of the streaming of the singles go towards the Finest Selection and not the albums. Just Can't Get Enough is top 20 on Norwegian iTunes... random! Must be an advert or something. Honestly, if it's not schlager season it takes very little to impact Scandinavian iTunes - I bought an Annie track once and it shot up to the top ten for a bit, so it could just literally be a random purchase. March 24, 20214 yr I'd also assume that a lot of the streaming of the singles go towards the Finest Selection and not the albums. quoting myself from the last time you posted this misconception The songs from the GH have their streams count towards both that and their respective studio albums (unless they are in the top 2 songs from those albums). :P

Scandinavian iTunes - I bought an Annie track once and it shot up to the top ten for a bit, so it could just literally be a random purchase. Again sorry guys I just got excited by a dodgy Twitter post and thought the numbers sounded somewhat realistic. Do you really think it's super optimistic to think that 'Living For The Weekend' has sold the same in 8 years as it did in 5 or 6 weeks Oh and the Scandi itunes thing.. I thought as much. :P The only way we are going to know if these are realistic is if we get a new cert soon or a sales update which will only happen with a reunion announcement. Do you really think it's super optimistic to think that 'Living For The Weekend' has sold the same in 8 years as it did in 5 or 6 weeks In general, studio albums just don't tend to sell that much even with trickle sales from streaming. Fan updates tend to be a tad over-optimistic. I mean, a huge group like the Spice Girls sell around 10k of their most popular studio album (Spice) per year, 3-4k of their second most popular album (Spiceworld) and let's not even mention Forever (less than 1000?). And the first two of those contained 7 number one singles (8 if you count Who Do You Think You Are and Mama as seperate tracks) and a number 2 hit! Unless there are updates where we know exact sales from year A and year B we can't really know what the average sales are for their studio albums. Edited March 24, 20214 yr by tommie
March 24, 20214 yr Ahh that's a shame, it did look so good to see them all so close to certification, at this rate it seems like they won't see anything for YEARS to come then. :( At least it's still nice to see their singles getting there.
