Posted May 20, 20196 yr If tonight's victory parade in Manchester to celebrate Man City's domestic treble is supposed to be for the Manchester public then it doesn't add up because... *What if you're a Manchester United fan? *Would an ordinary Mancunian who doesn't necessarily support one of the teams celebrate Man City winning the Premier League one year and Man United winning it another? *If Man United and Man City met in a cup final would that aforementioned ordinary Mancunian celebrate regardless of the result? Please explain.
May 20, 20196 yr Presumably it’s because nobody actually gives a f*** and they’re trying to get people to come so it’s not embarrassingly empty. I work at the edge of the parade route and didn’t bother going into the office today, not because the parade route would be busy (it won’t be) but because to road closures mean I can’t get from the office to any of the city centre tram stops so would have to walk home and I cba with that.
May 20, 20196 yr The parade is only for Manchester City "fans". No one apart from them and Sky Sports News even cares about this parade to be honest.
May 20, 20196 yr BBC North West keeps tweeting about it, but isn’t getting any engagement with it. I’ve seen a weather forecast get more retweets
May 20, 20196 yr It's actually hard to imagine anyone supporting Manchester City for their whole life/footballing life unless they are under 10 years old or if they are born and bred in Manchester. They must have the most plastic fan base right now.
May 20, 20196 yr It's actually hard to imagine anyone supporting Manchester City for their whole life/footballing life unless they are under 10 years old or if they are born and bred in Manchester. They must have the most plastic fan base right now. Exactly, they struggle to sell out most home games. The majority of their fans are casual football fans or are 10 years old.
May 20, 20196 yr I've just seen that they have dropped and broken the Premier League trophy! The disrespect
May 21, 20196 yr They'll be alright they'll win the next 6... Could well do, we'd basically be the SPL! Be interesting to see what happens with UEFA case...
March 26, 20205 yr BUMP It would be til hell freezes over that a victory parade for Man City or Man United would be for the whole of the Manchester people.
