December 1, 20195 yr Can't wait for this - Nessa hasn't changed at all! Not a bit, cant wait for this.
December 2, 20195 yr I would say they will go all out to advertise it as the main highlight of their season. Anyone see the new BBC Christmas ad which premiered this weekend?
December 3, 20195 yr Honestly will be the highlight of Christmas day for me Me too although I always love christmas day eastenders.
December 24, 20195 yr Oscar Hartland, who was one of the babies to play Neil in Series 3, will be returning to play Neil again.
December 25, 20195 yr They really thought keeping the word f***** in the most watched TV show of the year (one of them) on Christmas Day was appropriate. James Corden really is a inconsiderate c**t.
December 25, 20195 yr That was absolutely fantastic! I was worried it wasn't going to have the same magic, but it really exceeded my expectations! It was so good to see Pam back on my screen screaming 'Oh my Christ!' The progression in the relationship between Smithy and Nessa was brilliant too, and the ending had me emotional af. Hopefully it paves the way for series 4 in the coming years.
December 25, 20195 yr I thought it was fantastic! They really managed to retain all the magic of the show even all these years on. Nessa is still the star for me
December 25, 20195 yr I enjoyed it - it was more of a ‘Greatest Hits’ rather than any high-stakes plot development, but when you enjoy the company of all the characters, it’s not a bad thing. A pity there’s no Budgie or Deano, but given their actors’ careers have blossomed since the series ended, I doubt they would’ve come back for a minor role. And that cliffhanger - I’m guessing they’re hoping for an Easter special or another Christmas special next year, which no doubt will be more of the same.
December 25, 20195 yr They really thought keeping the word f***** in the most watched TV show of the year (one of them) on Christmas Day was appropriate. James Corden really is a inconsiderate c**t. In all fairness, James Corden may not have written that part and even if he did, Ruth Jones also allowed it through. I actually thought that was a realistic representation of what would happen with that song today, that it would be performed uncensored but with characters reacting to the use of the word. It’s not like it was all just swept under the carpet. I think they managed to keep the same magic of the series with this episode, you definitely felt these were the same people just a decade later. Plus they’ve left us wanting more.
December 25, 20195 yr It's more the fact of the reaction it's caused, the band censor that word, you would censore any other word related to hate speech (n word for.example) but because it's related to homophobia it's okay? I CBA having the argument, that's just my two cents. It's in poor taste and it could have been edited out for Christmas f***ing Day. It would have sent such a positive message to edit out that word imo.
December 25, 20195 yr Absolutely loved this special. Loved Bryns face when Jason arrived 😂 I know it's Xmas day and all but the Pogues are bound to get a boost after that performance.

December 25, 20195 yr I loved it!! Was literally just like S4 ep1 tbh felt like all the other previous episodes with the same magic / humour and I loved that we seen everyone in the episode and that Doris was mentioned too. I wonder what the “best ever scene” was that was mentioned when they said that saved the process and they continued writing after that. There’s a few I think it could’ve been possibly the weed scene? I do have hoped we will get more specials. Idk about a full series but I can definitely see another Christmas Day episode next year and I bet this ends up being the most watched show too. To think Id never seen a single episode till a few weeks ago as well. Such a brilliant show.
December 26, 20195 yr Brilliant. Nessa and Smithy belong together omfg. Say yes, say yes, say yes!!! The show was cracking, proper tidy.
December 26, 20195 yr I really enjoyed it, pam as usual was brilliant. That episode showed there is scope for another 1-2 specials.
