Kelis getting that UK resurgence after this.

It’s definitely her as the daisy. I instantly know her voice but I was like OMG she’s literally on this

Octopus is puzzling me the most from tonight’s. Like I have no clue. Twitter seem to think Ashley Roberts but I just don’t think Ashley can sing that well!

Even if her voice wasn’t already distinctive, one of the clues was that her name was from the same seed she grew from; Kelis’ name is a portmanteau of her parents names!

I caught a bit of this and it sums up everything I hate about these sort of shows. So overly dramatic, drawn out, too many adverts, random 'judges' (the guy from Hangover and Community? Jonathan Ross?? Davina McCall??) and the usual manipulation and games by producers ('have the judges guess as many random, incorrect names as possible to build suspense!") and then the constant zooming in and cutting away on their - OTT - reactions as the masked singer takes the mask off.

Complete trash.

Tbf Ken is more well known in the US and started as a judge there, he’s obviously been adopting in the UK as a judge purely because he’s a Masked Singer judge. Like Cheryl Cole being an X Factor US judge despite being a nobody

so you went into it knowing it was a show you were going to hate and you.. hate it?

go figure.

I thought this was brilliant, it's so refreshing and the fact that you have to guess along is really fun too it's not the same as say X Factor or The Voice where they take themselves way too seriously because there might be a record contract or whatever, it's silly but that's just really refreshing. As much as I loved getting right into the hot competition of peak X Factor where it really meant something, I think the entertainment factor of this is so much more than XF has had in YEARS or The Voice has ever had.

A big reason why I think it’s done well in ratings is because of the fun and mystery of it mixed with the fact that some of the people can actually sing but it’s not like a serious competition where everyone’s going on about how this is all they’ve ever wanted and the thought of going back to their normal job is the worst thing in the world etc

I like it. I liked the US one though too. Rumer Willis was a huge stand out on that one for me.

Maybe she’s a bit too big for the show?!?! But I think the octopus is Lea Michele from Glee.

Didn’t think of Nicola Roberts as the queen bee. But now that everyone is saying I’m starting to think it could be

The only two I had a guess during the show was Cee Ló green as the Monster, and Kelis as Daisy.

The rest I have no idea.

I think Ashley Roberts could be Octopus, she's got a good musical theatre voice and she does weight training I believe, I'm sure I read that and it rang a bell when she said the clue.

Denise Van Outwn as Fox sounds right, Daisy definitely Kelis and Monster I think could be Cee-Lo as well, the speaking voice sounds about right too.

Octopus seemed to be very excited to have the opportunity to do this, possibly someone who has been out the limelight for a bit?

This lost a fifth of it's audience yesterday. It got 4.3m viewers, which is down 22%. BUT it was up against Call The Midwife (7m) & 'The Trial Of Christine Keeler' (4.4m) (where I assume that those who were watching CTM just couldn't be bothered to change the channel or didn't wanna watch TMS half way through or something).

However, it's the hit ITV needed. It's 20.67% share of the total UK audience was well up on the 17.54% that ITV usually get on a Sunday night!

I predict that the ratings will be about 6m next week on the Saturday and ITV are going to be owning Saturday nights once again very soon (I think I read here that there's no Sunday show from next week?)

I thought this was brilliant too, really enjoyed it, trying to guess who they are.

I think the unicorn is definately John Barrowman, monster cee lo green

and the fox going by the eastender clue i thought Danniella Westbrook actually

although i've seen people on Twitter think it's Denise Van Outen so could be her

Seen i few other tweets saying it was Danniella too maybe her or Denise

Ken had to miss some filming, so Donny Osmond is filling in for the next two episodes, he actually appeared on the US version last year:

I LOVE THIS. I didn't expect to like it, but it really surprised me. It's light-hearted, silly and doesn't take itself seriously. I want to know who everyone is literally seconds after they walk on!!

Apparently they're in talks for a "Eurovision style" worldwide thing where every country sends one celebrity in a mask and we can all vote. That sounds fun but I hope they don't overkill and saturate the format, what with the dancer one too, so people get fed up of it.

Honestly I think that would be pretty dull not knowing who 95% of the other countries' contestants are :P

And I don't expect they'll launch The Masked Dancer over here tbh
