Can’t remember the last time a song avoiding ACR annoyed me as much as Flowers is.

Perfect didn’t get the 25% increase it needed to go back to SCR. It went back to SCR because his label asked for it. If they can randomly put songs back to SCR, they should be able to randomly put old songs on ACR. Hopefully the easing of lockdown might be enough to put Ed back on ACR

I think it’s just the fault of the weather.

 

You get a week of bad weather, streams go down. Sun comes out, streams go up. As our weather is so interchangeable, it seems to be enough to stop songs going to ACR?!

DaBaby has just released the music video for ROCKSTAR, so that'll probably increase in streams again next week.

I thought that it did get the increase but it was just struck out as Ed had three higher charting songs, I might be wrong tho.

It did get the increase (alongside a ton of other songs in the post-Christmas week, where people shifting back to listening to non-Christmas songs combined with the overall streaming market declining massively week-on-week meant resets became extremely easy to achieve).

This is factually incorrect. Perfect increased 10.8% that week, against a market that FELL 17.8%. That works out as a 28.6% increase, which is more than 25% and therefore was enough for a reset. It was not a manual "label asking for a reset" situation.

Perfect did get the 25% increase (relative to the market) the week after Christmas, it just hasn't decreased three consecutive weeks since so has stayed on SCR.

If only the OCC had made the reset threshold 30%...

 

I don't think we'll see nearly as many songs get a reset next January as Christmas falls at the start of the chart week, so there shouldn't be as sharp a drop in the market, nor as marked an increase in streams for non-Christmas songs from one week to the next. Perfect is just the lucky one of a kind.
