August 19, 20195 yr this is great and i’d love her to carry on in this vein. she desperately needs to find a lane + stick to it because it looks creatively very messy. i know they’re throwing everything out there to see what sticks but all of her tracks have such different pop vibes that you couldn’t say you love her sound because you don’t know what’s coming next. However, with new popstars like Ava I really don't mind it as I feel like that's what their debut album should be all about. Finding a sound that works for them, to then improve and adapt it in the 2nd album some more. I get Kylie vibes from this song. Probably coz of how camp it actually is more than anything though :lol:

I think you might be waiting a while for that - Sweet But Psycho is a rare breed of pop track and it's going to be hard for her to top it! It's much like 1D with What Makes You Beautiful - that was such a brilliant and top notch debut that judging everything afterwards in comparison would be quite harsh. As for Torn, I really like it! A better first impression than So Am I, and the subtle use of sample plays to its strengths.

It's different enough to avoid that. This is fine — cheap and forgettable like most of her output thus far. Yeah, I agree! Somebody with a brain cell x SBP will probably always remain Ava's signature hit, just like Bad Romance is probably always going to remain Gaga's signature hit with the GP. August 21, 20195 yr I really LOVE this, don't think it's getting enough love here! The disco touch isn't really being done too much at the moment. So Am I was a good follow-up that kept in the same vein as Sweet But Psycho and this offers a fresh, new side to her whilst keeping her feeling very pure pop and fun. I feel like it might be a bit too dated and as Liam said, kinda "Melfest", to actually do anything successful. But won't stop me being a fan.
August 21, 20195 yr I’ve changed my mind on this. I actually keep going back to it it’s pure camp pop at its best. I’m just really struggling to see it being a hit.
