I'm pretty shocked to see Chasing Cars being that high from just a news stat that's circulating.

Yeah, it seems really strange that people would flock to buy a song that is... the most played song of the century, and thus a song they’ve probably heard many times before

It is truly the song that never dies, or at least felt like it for many years.

Would be interested to know where Mr Brightside is in the airplay charts of the century list actually seeing as it is apparently the biggest classic of the 00s, it's never played on stations like Magic/Heart etc which is the sort of stations where I guess Chasing Cars was most hammered.

wow at Chasing cars now being #2 and not far from #1 when combined

Same here wonder is its selling well or iTunes really has stopped selling!

The Feeling were huge for an album plus one return single and that was it. Every single from the first release was heavily played I remember. Maybe the fact they haven't done anything since means they havent continued getting support by radio as audiences don't know them these days. Suppose though that would happen to every one hit wonder going forward!

Heart don't play 'Chasing Cars' that much (and thank god because I am forced to listen to Heart fairly often xx). Only heard it on there about 2 or 3 times ever.
Chasing Cars is overrated, it's nowhere near as good as a lot of people build it up to be. Take Back The City & Open Your Eyes are better songs than that as well.
I'm huge snow patrol fan so I'm just happy to see them back in the singles chart again, I hope it can hold up and get some good streams aswell.
Same, I really like Snow Patrol and although this one has always been their most popular it’s still great to see it back up there! It does look like it’s peaked now though as it’s back down to #3, but still glad it got as high as #2 simply from a news story on radio airplay!
amazing song, amazing band, still going strong and still making great tracks
