Anyone watching the Ch.5 Brexit debate? Michael Howard said "There was only one referendum that mattered. That was in 2016. The public were asked a straight question, leave or remain. Leave won and that result must be respected and implemented and we must leave"

Ann Widdecombe's on there too.

HOW MANY TIMES?!

People voted both ways. Two nations vs two nations. It got 51%. That's it. It was non-binding. It means jack shit.

Actually, 52%. That's 4% more than remain got.

And not enough for major constitutional change, sooo? It was actually 51%. Sorry :( Mwaa. Talk when it's 66% and three nations k tnx.

Wiki says 51.89% compared to 48.11%. So a difference of 3.78%. Almost 4%.

Which would not be enough to change the constitution of many golf clubs.

Never mind that no referendum *at all* was called to take us in... :nono:

Excellent point.

DUP say they won't support Boris's deal and EU says the foundation for a deal was there. Why have the DUP to hold the UK hostage and stop us leaving? It's disgraceful. He apparently doesn't seem to have the numbers without them.

Just bung them another billion Boris.

Or better still, say they won't get the billion already promised... :teresa:

I refer you to that brilliant Nigel Dodds quote from last year:

This [brexit]is a battle of who blinks first, and we've cut off our eyelids
One Tory MP on Sky saying it's all been rushed but Kay Burley said "rushed, are you joking, the referendum was over 3 years ago" He said if even if there was a deal they haven't time to even read the detail. Blaming Boris for putting this Oct. 31st deadline that he feels he has to abide by.

Yes. Put yer foot down Boris.

Nasty racist homophobic old bat.

Indeed!

The only good thing I can think of about this wicked old harpy is that when she won on Pointless - she donated her winnings to a Donkey Sanctuary!

Boris is said to be absolutely fuming with rage at the DUP and set to speak to Arlene again shortly, delaying his departure for Brussels. He privately told Leo a few days ago he had the DUP on board. In fact the reassurances were so positive from Boris ,that Dublin was more relaxed on this part.

The Lib-Dems will support the deal with the promise of a second referendum attached.

Ann really doesn't deserve to be on any platform, the sooner she croaks the better.

So now you support bribery?! God sake.

The original referendum with more facts and no lies and no soundbires was 70% for membership. Oops. Sorry. Mwaa.
