Ed Sheeran & Stormzy’s Take Me Back to London looks safe for a second week at #1, with the highest new entry probably being Post Malone with Circles, released a week prior to his next album

Lana Del Rey could manage a 4th #1 album with Norman f***ing Rockwell, she’s up against the returning TOOL with Fear Inoculum, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. new releases include Kano’s Hoodies All Summer, The S.L.P., Sheryl Crow, Lil Tecca, Ezra Furman and the physical release for Bon Iver’s i,i

Breakdown of the week

- Saturday: Some information may be posted on social media but it is likely to be missing most streaming data and is unrepresentative.

- Sunday: Official First Look Chart on Radio 1 from 6-7pm

- Monday: OCC Top 100 from 5:45pm

- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.

- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.

- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)

- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).

- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.

- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored.

- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

Oasis still have an incredibly loyal fanbase - Definitely Maybe already returned to the Top 5 with the 20th anniversary edition.

Is Taylor at #6?

Lana could get #1. She done better than I imagined. I thought her pure sales might’ve looked like that after a whole week on sale.

Take it she’s probably gonna have her best opening since Ultraviolence?

Are Oasis that high just because it's been 25 years since the release ?

Yeah her sales after day 1 are the same as the Monday update for her last album which sold 24k, so maybe this can sell 30k?

There is a re release on vinyl

That Saturday is without streaming, right?

We haven't got Saturday data yet; that's today. Friday's sales from today's update will have no streaming, though, no.

OMFG SHE'S DOING IT SHE'S DOING IT WITH HER BEST ALBUM SINCE BTD!!!!!

OMG YES ABSOLUTE WORK OF ACTUAL ARTPOP ESOTERIC EXISTENTIALIST ALBUM!!!!

IN Y'ALL FACE Y'ALL LANA HATERS WHO SAID SOME ELBOWISH INDIE BAND WOULD DO IT OR CHEESY ED WOULD DO IT!!! EVERYONE STREAM IT NOW OR BUY IT AS XMAS PRESENTS FOR PEOPLE WHO APPRECIATE EXOSTENTIALIST THOUGHT PUT TO MUSIC!!!! THIS IS FOR THEM! MATINER'S APARTMENT COMPLEX IS A DEEP SONG ABOUT CONFLICT SET OVER A METONYMIC DECONSTRUCTION OF FAMOUS LOVE SONGS THROUGH THE REPETITON OF THEIR MOST FAMOUS LINES AND IS THE EPITOME OF THIS PIECE OF WORK AND Y'ALL WILL ALL DEAL WITH THAT AND HOW MUCH IT LEAVES YOUR CHEESY FAVES IN THE DUST!! As Britney is singing some song about working out your body to make money, ie selling it, yer betahh werrr berrch, Lana is setting artistic standards. Ain't no fave competing with her this year at LEAST! Y'all will all deal.

Also what did Taylor drop to with American Sweetheart, 1-3 right? Oop.

Amazing for Lana

So many different vinyls, cassettes, multiformatting seems to be helping

acts with loyal fans like kylie or lana

Bit disappointing figures for Tool

Great first day sales for Lana there, should be a pretty comfortable 4th #1 for her then I should think especially as her streaming numbers are looking pretty solid too.

TOOL actually being that high despite their curious decision to make the physical release so limited and expensive (bizarre that they haven't released a vinyl version!) is not bad really, I think they would have been competing for the #1 (probably still losing to Lana but not by that much) if they had a normal physical release. They're at a pretty big disadvantage streaming wise as well considering 6 of the 10 songs on the album are over 10 minutes, and apparently the other 4 tracks are essentially just extended interludes with 3 of the 4 not even being on the physical version. It's a really long album that doesn't provide many streaming equivalent sales per listen since those sales are counted per song and not per run time. So it seems like their sales will probably actually be mostly driven by downloads.
