I made a point of mentioning that lyric to see if people would be ok if it was the other way around  I really don’t think they would be.

Maybe because I don’t resonate with her because I’m Male and Slim I don’t get her appeal and I’m clearly not who she wants to target either. I just find her really tedious every performance she does is just same old same old and her vocals aren’t to my taste either a bit off pitch for my liking.

you can’t enjoy her music because you’re a slim male?

I can I just don’t.

I mean She’s promoting self love for people who are like not slim so I’m like not who she’s a champion for.

I’m slim and male and like her music so again I’m not getting that point either ? and she literally promotes self love for EVERYONE not just big people but you would know that if you actually listened to her music and followed her .

There's also the bizarre possibility that, y'know, people like her music because they think it's good, and don't necessarily decide that because they're not identical to Lizzo in terms of size, weight or appearance, that must affect their enjoyment of her songs...

Let's not even go there with Camila either - defending someone with a racist past exposed who followed that up with a half-hearted, forced apology but condemning a woman promoting and embracing self-love? I can't :')

I’ve listened to her album and it just wasn’t for me one bit.

Can see it getting a new peak though after this tbh could push it into the top 20 perhaps?

I really hope they announce some more performers who can actually perform though. I like Lewis and Billie but they’re hardly gonna put on a show. Harry is the only one I’m looking forward too but the line up is lacking something

I just think it’s unhealthy and dangerous to promote being an unhealthy size. It’s glamourising something what can cause serious health complications especially towards impressionable young people who may be male or female black or white. It just doesn’t sit right with me that’s why I think she’s a bad role model and at her age as well she should really know better so I can’t at you not seeing that

Why are people even mentioning Camila as a response to this. Girls on everyone’s lips for something she done when she was a teenager and what come out in the media years ago people just need to let go of that.

Actually lowkey a disgusting mindset, like I don't care if she is overweight she can move a hell of a lot of better than most people half her size so clearly she is healthy? It's not like she's someone from the cast of My 600lb Life, why on earth does someone who isn't the "ideal" of slimness for whatever reason (so many reasons why that may be, health reasons but ofc it's "lazy" and "dangerous" to be anything other than a stick) offend some people so much? It's not about her music and you know that. If it was you wouldn't mention her size every 5 seconds!

How do you know she’s unhealthy though ? You can be big and plus sized and be healthy still and you be thin and still be unhealthy and Lizzo performs just fine when she performs live and never seems like she’s unfit or is struggling to keep up . Also why should people let the Camila situation go ? Especially after her pretty crap and phoney so called apology she was racist and offended a lot of people you can’t just expect people to just forget about it .

Hun you wrote a paragraph about Camila, I responded to it...

Because somebody else brought her up. I said people I didn’t specifically say Calum did I? Because I’m certain i didn’t. Just responding to what someone else said hun x

I wonder what Lizzo will perform :o

I reckon a mashup of 'Truth Hurts' and 'Good As Hell'

I would love if she did something like 'Tempo' or an album track like 'Soulmate'

A classic bit of shaming from someone who had probably never had to deal with being a large size. Genuinely worried for you.

I have pretty much felt overweight my entire life. I was a chubby child and always made fun of for that. I slimmed down at 15-18 but was still stocky so I still felt like I was overweight because of comments. I looked damn good looking back and I now wish I’d been able to have the confidence to enjoy looking that good back then. At 31, I am overweight and have a beer belly but I go to the gym every morning and also swim 40 lengths before I even get to work. I might be an unhealthy size but I’m not unhealthy otherwise I wouldn’t be able to do any of that. I am losing weight bit by bit but it takes time and doesn’t always go to plan. I’m a teacher and consider myself a role model for my students. Am I failing them because I’m overweight?

Are we expecting Lizzo to hide away and only come out with music when she’s sorted her weight out? Of course not, that would be ridiculous. You have mentioned enjoying Adele’s music before, is that a new thing because she’s lost all that weight? Or did you like her before despite her size?

I can’t take your skinny shaming complaints seriously when you are so obviously fat shaming.

As for Lizzo, I’ve only really heard Good As Hell and it’s a bop.

Adele is an icon and someone who’s music I’ve always liked.

Plus Adele dressed appropriately for her size too she didn’t come out wearing next to nothing at every award show or tv performance she did and her musics never been about celebrating her size either or dragging those down who aren’t thick. They’re very very different. Adele’s voice is her selling point she hasn’t needed to do the OTT tactics and theatrics Lizzo does not just during performances but even on social media as well.

Adele’s been losing weight gradually for years as well. She was nowhere the near the size of Lizzo though even at her largest there was at least a five stone difference between them.

Why must larger women have to cover themselves up? That's sizeist and an extremely offensive suggestion. Lizzo can dress and be whoever she wants. Besides, you seem to be ignoring the arguments about how being big doesn't mean you're unhealthy. She's not advertising obesity and saying "come on everyone, get fat!", she's teaching people to love themselves no matter what society (and people like you) suggest.

I suggest you take a read of Jameela Jamil's Twitter account for reasons why your argument is so terrible.

So it’s healthy to be overweight and you’re all telling me if you were the size of that or your child was you’d be ok with it?

I’m really struggling at how to put my point across well tbh. But I’m genuinely confused at how people can genuinely think she’s a good role model even after reading comments what almost all say the same thing.

So Joseph, I’ll actually read her twitter. Tbh I agree with her on a lot of stuff. Also I’d like to say sorry to anyone who’s been offended it’s not like I’m going out of my way to try and say something what’s the opposite of everyone else but I do sometimes get carried away and I’m not always able to shut myself up.
