Kind of hoping Adele drops her album the week of Christmas as a surprise release. Although I'm also hoping that this year it'll be Mariah, especially if her label get the song off ACR!

Has there been any update on the Mariah ACR?

I assume Wham are ahead of Mariah due to the Last Christmas film?

There's been no update and it's possible (perhaps likely?) that it will not happen.

The chart rule requires the label to ask for a manual reset while the track in question is outside the top 100 but in practice this seems to be ignored. If AIWFCIY was to get a manual reset I guess it would take effect from either this week or next Friday at the latest as once the track is inside the top 40 I can't envisage any "exceptional circumstances" that would meet the rule. The rule also requires a track to be "scheduled for promotion" but given the track is a Christmas song it will be promoted enough by radio and streaming playlists in the next few weeks. I doubt the record label have had to make any effort to schedule it for promotion though it could be argued the track is helping to promote the 25th anniversary release of 'Merry Christmas'.

Yeh it may well chart in the top 40 on Friday and it would have been requested by now I imagine.
How dumb the current no.1 doesn't even have any odds. I suspect she won't quite make it but she's got a better chance than most of the acts on that list.
I agree especially with it being on SCR for another 3 weeks is it?

I hope Mariah gets her Christmas #1 this year!

But honestly To The Moon (RPDR UK) deserves it

The idea of Mariah being taken off ACR has always been little more than a stan fantasy, it theoretically might still happen but I highly doubt it if it hasn't already.
If she does she will sell well over 100k in the two Xmas weeks!

on the occ article published the other day it details that the label are gonna release the single on

cassette, CD, 7” and 12” formats. That alone should grant a reset if the label asks for it...

just hope her label knows about the OCC and the UK chart rules and having to ask for resets :D

I just Mariah's website and yes the physical release is Dec 20 for the single in CD, cassette and vinyl
So will all the sales be counted on that week of the chart then?

In time for the Xmas chart B-)

Unfortunately only a 7” Vinyl and cassette are being released in the UK. CD and 12” are exclusive to the US store, so won’t count as sales here.

In the UK the 7”/cassette dispatch will count towards the chart that is the week after the Christmas chart.

Robbie? HOW? :D

Would be great for him to get his second Christmas No.1. Think I'm right in saying only Somethin' Stupid did it in 2001.

Yes, Somethin' Stupid in 2001.

+ 2 more Xmas singles No.1 for him as a singer of charity singles in 2004 and 2012 years.
