The team behind Wham!'s Last Christmas are hoping that the classic festive song will be this year's Christmas #1!

"Everyone's going to be working very hard to make that happen," said George's lawyer Chris Organ of Russells on the chances of the Number 1 single. "George was not only one of greatest British vocalists of all time, he was one of greatest British songwriters of all time." Chris concluded that it would be a "nice tribute" for Last Christmas to top the charts 35 years after it was released.

The new romantic comedy movie Last Christmas will certainly be a significant factor in promoting the song this year!

It's also been announced that the single will be reissued on 7" white vinyl, available from 13th December - which is targeting the Christmas chart week. It's being stocked on the Last Christmas soundtrack store, but will also be sold on Amazon and Rough Trade.

What do you guys think, does it have any chance of reaching #1 this year? Would you like it to?

Scenes when this gets granted an SCR reset while Mariah doesn't, resulting in this blocking her from #1.

(I still highly doubt either of them will get reset x)

ideally this would be xmas number one then Mariah the following week.

but Lewis Capaldi and Stormzy will probably roll out their own xmas #1 campaigns and they won’t be handicapped by acr.

I am thinking of buying one, shame amazon.co.uk does not ship outside UK.
So no CD single then? Think they've missed a trick there. I'd have bought it.

25th anniversary campaign for Mariah.

35th anniversary campaign for Wham.

Can we now get a 45th anniversary campaign for Mud?

Already a No.1 in 1974 though but yes it is a great song.

Would love to see Sladse in the top 10 again but just doesn't have the popularity amongst the young generation now like Wham, Mariah and The Pogues do.

I blame the guitars!!

The song that started it all off though...

613,024 streams on UK Spotify, and up to #2! ‭62,962‬ streams behind Mariah.

Midweek #20 today!

A bit confused about the 7" vinyl situation! Its listing on Amazon UK now says "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." (this is usually a sign that they won't have any stock at all or that the item is cancelled). Rough Trade says: "Pre-Orders sold out. Please check your local store for availability" hmm. Maybe both stores were only allocated a certain amount? It's still available on the Last Christmas movie soundtrack store though: https://www.lastchristmassoundtrack.com/pro...ristmas-7-vinyl

I seen the vinyl of the Last Christmas OST in HMV at the weekend.

I'm referring to the 7" single pre-order, not the soundtrack OST! (Unless you were just making a separate point, lol)
Christmas #1 will completely be a race between Lewis Capaldi and Stormzy tbh, Wham and Mariah will be racing for #3 I guess. Dance Monkey probs #5

Oh I thought you meant the OST one as well. I'd love a vinyl of the LC single too though ❤️

Unless either blow up and (if) DM is on ACR then Mariah and Wham could be the top 2 imo.
