I don’t understand how Brenda Lee is so high on Spotify yet so low on the official chart compared to other Christmas songs.

She isn't as high on other services, #27 on Apple Music.

We need to stream the life out of mariah to get to the top.

I'm still streaming it, just remember not to loop it.

Seems like most Christmas songs have been down on last year's Spotify figures all through the month. I'm not sure why, it feels like they haven't pushed the Christmas playlists quite as much this year, also people have been saying for months about lower than usual streams for the top 3 on Spotify, so in that context Stormzy has done well to stay that high. Still it should all hinge on the surge in streams over Christmas itself.

 

Spotify is losing market share in the UK - Amazon have been pushing their 99p for 3 months unlimited service, You can get Apple for 6 months free with EE contracts and at the moment any song you Shazam gives you the chance to win up to 6 months free for Apple too - All is having a big impact (Aside from the fact Spotify is a clunky platform and Apple is much better IMO).
