She started her career as a singer in the acid jazz band Crisp in the mid-1990s in Adelaide. In 1997, when Crisp disbanded, she released her debut studio album titled OnlySee in Australia. She moved to London, England, and provided lead vocals for the British duo Zero 7. In 2000, Sia released her second studio album, Healing Is Difficult, on the Columbia label the following year, and her third studio album, Colour the Small One, in 2004, but all of these struggled to connect with a mainstream audience. Sia relocated to New York City in 2005 and toured in the United States. Her fourth and fifth studio albums, Some People Have Real Problems and We Are Born, were released in 2008 and 2010, respectively. Each was certified gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association and attracted wider notice than her earlier albums. Uncomfortable with her growing fame, Sia took a hiatus from performing, during which she focused on songwriting for other artists, producing successful collaborations "Titanium" (with David Guetta), "Diamonds" (with Rihanna) and "Wild Ones" (with Flo Rida). In 2014, Sia finally broke through as a solo recording artist when her sixth studio album, 1000 Forms of Fear, debuted at No 1 in the U.S. Billboard 200 and generated the top-ten single "Chandelier" and a trilogy of music videos starring child dancer Maddie Ziegler. In 2016, she released her seventh studio album This Is Acting, which spawned her first Billboard Hot 100 number one single, "Cheap Thrills". The same year, Sia gave her Nostalgic for the Present Tour, which incorporated dancing by Ziegler and others and other performance art elements. Sia wears a wig that obscures her face to protect her privacy. Among the accolades received by Sia are ARIA Awards and an MTV Video Music Award. Her eighth studio album, first Christmas album, and debut album with Atlantic Records was released in 2017. It was titled Everyday Is Christmas and was preceded by the single "Santa's Coming for Us". The album was reissued in 2018 with three bonus tracks. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History Sia 2000 10 Taken For Granted -1- 2000 82 Little Man -2- 2001 91 Drink to Get Drunk -3- 2001 30 Destiny (Zero 7 feat. January 5, 20206 yr Cheap Thrills was enjoyable enough but definitely not worthy of having "outsold" Chandelier and Titanium. Never got Take Me To Church, at least I can appreciate that chart run though *.*
January 5, 20206 yr Not to pour a dampener on your predictions, but it was big in Europe and Ireland before it was a hit in the UK iirc.... that's probably why I predicted it to get big here :kink:

Adele honed hers as a kid in her North London bedroom, imitating Etta James every night for an hour. But as soon as she made her televised debut in 2007 (on Later...With Jools Holland), all potential comparisons evaporated: This girl with the whopping hoop earrings and a pub landlady’s brashness had something unique. Heartbreak, indignation, and regret all found a natural home in her regal mezzo-soprano, the instrument that powered her 2008 debut album, 19, and took influence from the American South on 2011’s 21. Both of these albums broke records for breaking records, and made a subsequent operation on Adele’s vocal cords a matter of global import. She recovered immaculately—for proof, watch her comeback performance of “Rolling in the Deep” at the 2012 Grammys—and it took just one word to reintroduce her in 2015. “Hello,” she sang during an X Factor ad break, unveiling her world-conquering single and third album, 25, in the process. Like its predecessors, 25 upended 21st-century metrics and made Adele the first artist to earn the top-selling album of a calendar year three times. She’s now a mother and wife, and the agony of twenty-something heartbreak is well behind her. But if any voice were ever capable of carrying its owner into maturity, it’s hers. - iTunes Top 100 Chart History 2008 02 Chasing Pavements -1- 2008 19 Hometown Glory -3- 2008 18 Cold Shoulder -2- 2008 04 Make You Feel My Love -4- MILLION SELLER 2011 02 Rolling In The Deep -1- MILLION SELLER 2011 01 Someone Like You -2- MILLION SELLER 2011 11 Set Fire To The Rain -3- MILLIONAIRE 2011 62 Turning Tables -AT- 2011 85 Rumour Has It -AT- 2012 99 One And Only -AT- 2012 37 I Can't Make You Love Me -AT- 2012 02 Skyfall -OST- 2015 01 Hello -1- MILLIONAIRE 2015 09 When We Were Young -2- 2015 64 Million Years Ago -AT- 2016 41 All I Ask -AT- 2016 05 Send My Love (To Your New Lover) -3- 2016 39 Water Under The Bridge -4- 2 x #1 | 6 x Top 5 | 7 x Top 10 | 10 x Top 20 | 12 x Top 40 | 17 x Top 100 Social Media Adele http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

January 5, 20206 yr Cheap thrills still sound good, wasn't expecting it to be higher than 'Chandelier' but glad it is. I don't like the version without Sean Paul though, his contributions between Sia's lines really glues the song together. 'Take Me To Church' is one of the better MOR hits, I prefer it to the similarly voiced Rag n Bone Man's 'Human'. Also like Passenger big in Ireland before it was a hit in the UK. Edited January 5, 20206 yr by JanuarySaleSnake
January 5, 20206 yr If I remember correctly, 'Take Me To Church' peaked at #2 in the UK, Ireland, US and Australia, and a different song blocked it from #1 in each of those countries. 'Someone Like You' deservedly making the top 20
