I’ve been back watching the bbc for half an hour and they’ve barely mentioned Ayr and the Shetlands, had to come on here to see that great news!

Of course they wouldn't. Rhe BBTory is unionist and government propaganda. Treat it like you would Russia Today.

That was my point Exactly Michael!

They made the good point though when discussing a second referendum - what does Labour do if that occurs?? Labours downfall can be traced to signing up with the establishmentarians in 2014 during that referendum.

Fantastic news in Edinburgh central

The lib dem one is unionist tactical voting so not concerned about that. Getting rooths seat was the important one

labour get there first seat in edinburgh southern

quite remarkable how much sse struggle in edinburgh

Don’t mean to pour cold water here but can the close wins for the snp be taken away by the voting system in the end?

Eastwood stays with tories, damn it wasn't even as close as what people though

The holds won’t f*** the list seat allocation. The gains might be a conversion from list to constituency but Edinburgh central is an outright gain as Lothian has no nationalist on the list

Dumbarton was a shit show

Looking likely of missing majority but should have more seats than last time

Wonder if this is a mistake - people who don’t want it but vote snp will be polarised! And counting all today’s votes as an example there is a unionist majority - maybe needs to build the case again for a few years?

Unionist majority?? All polls point to indie winning.

The most recent one showed it losing and the elections results today is probably fairly close

A positive case for independence will bring energy and enthusiadm, plus the SNP strength always increases during campaigning. Like Corbyn, they are masters on the campaign trail and with getting their message out, once the BBTory HAS to report it legally. Following the pandemic, once the Blojo bounce from the NHS VACCINATION PROGRAMME, NOT TORY!! has ebbed away, and the Tories bring back austerity, the polls will shift again. Furthermore, with 80% youth wanting independence, it really is just a mattee of time. A year is all that is needed, for the Tory austerity bite and for the SNP to hammer home that the vaccination roll out was an NHS, not a Tory, success.

Surely the smart move would be to wait a few years? Not sure Independence is quite as nailed on as people think when it comes down to the vote again. The economic landscape is far more uncertain than in 2014 for one. I think a better Unionist Campaign pulls on those fears. In 3-4 years time, I'm not so sure those fears in the same way.
