Yesssss!! Pop Gaga really is back!

This is brilliant. It has definite potential to smash as well!

It’s a more GP friendly lead than Applause and Perfect Illusion.

I agree with the poster who said it’s her most straight forward lead since Just Dance. It’s a care free pop song but also a bop! It’s something I could actually see doing well (I’m a stan so hopefully not just wishful thinking) but the GP love this side of Gaga where it’s pop but not weird or conveying a strong message). I can definitely see it going top ten at least (to be honest if it gets a Friday release it might even debut top ten because first day sales will be high and her streams will be decent now she’s a streaming force after ASIB era).

But if it were between this and Gypsy, what would y'all weak willies choose?
For me, Gypsy. But that's loterally top 5 of her best ever songs for me so you can't directly compare a fresh track to a track you've had for 5 years or so.

Also, I wouldn't say she's a streaming force just yet. ASIB is a whole different kettle of fish. It was a soundtrack to a huge box office smash. Just don't set yourself up for disappointment if this doesn't do too great on streaming (I believe it could - I'm just saying don't be surprised if she doesn't, pure pop gets hit really hard on streaming 90% of the time gahhhhh - unless its a soundtrack song or by whoever is flavour of the moment (ala Dua))

Dua doing well gives me hope though!

Perfect Illusion I think debuted at #31 on UK Spotify.

I’m definitely expecting better than that but at the same time I know it’s real unlikely she’ll debut at #1

I’d say between 15 and 20 for debut on streaming could be sort of realistic though?

But yeah I’m hoping she gets a deal from Spotify or Apple. Hopefully her team will get her onto the biggest playlists at the earliest opportunity.

It depends on her team and how desperate she/they are to get the spotify support. The worry in me is that they won't care because "it's just about the fans!!1".

I’m hoping they will care after seeing how Shallow become the hit it was.

I know that was a soundtrack and not a pop song BUT she had a taste of real commercial success on the singles chart what she hadn’t had since 2011 prior to that so I think they want it it’s just how they go about it.

I love the Born This Way era, I won't be disappointed if it sounds like that - although I'm not sure that would translate into chart success very well.

I don’t think it’s very Born This Way era like at all personally. It’s not as dark pop nor does it have rock like influences.

I’d say it’s more like The Fame era Gaga.

You guys really don't think it sounds dated? It's like a leftover from Born This Way era and not with great lyrics either.

Looks like we are the only ones here with non pink shades on~

Calm down y'all it's nice and everything but it's basic af and it honestly feels like a step back for Gaga.

I think lyrically it's closest to The Fame but production wise it doesn't really fit with any era? Maybe some times to somewhere between ARTPOP and Joanne with hints of The Fame and BTW?
The quietness is a little odd. Are they not planning to move the release to Friday? Surely they can't stick with the 7th of Feb now it's leaked...

Quite a bit of speculation around that this isn't actually the lead single. I don't think her team leaked it intentionally like some have suggested but the lack of any response could mean its just an album track so not that important, maybe...

I stg if this pushes back the release even further now though

omg WHAT kind of plot twist :drama:

Still not listened!
