I Don't Care did:

1,180-857-755-817-830-786-725

736-693-602-686-715-688-690

in its 2 first weeks... so held up pretty well

by comparison, a month later Beautiful People opened with 610K on release date

and 2 weeks later, on album release week it increased to 778k

I imagine a lot of Billie's first day streams will have come form people just wanting to hear what the Bond theme sounded like, so I think she'll have a bigger percentage drop than IDC, maybe down to around the 600k range
sure she'll have a big drop today mostly cos she's not heavily supported on Spotify playlists like Ed always does

Thanks Dan

My thinking is similar to LMLou's - though a better quality song than "I Don't Care" may hold more attention. That said that isn't exactly how it works in reality :P

checking Thank U Next, it started relatively low with just above 500K but slowly climbed and did 1,007k one week after release

7 Rings opened with 800K but also increased the days after release

on album release date 7 Rings did 900K with Break Up entering at #2 with 785K

Still I remember there were people saying that Ariana flopped compared to the hype

Is this the first time we've had a Bond theme in the streaming era? I forget whether streaming was in it's early days when Sam's track was released.

Bond is the most successful movie franchise in Britain, I think. It's an event every time there's a new film released, and the theme song is a big deal, so I don't know what to expect in regards to how well it'll hold up on streaming, but I think it's going to hold stronger than people think.

By definition of when streaming was included in the chart, Sam Smith's was also in the streaming era, though notably that was only a year after the fact and they certainly relied on sales to get to #1, with only a weekly #17 peak on Spotify.

Joel Corry making the top 20 today too! New peaks also for Doja Cat and Becky Hill.
633,815 for Billie today

Yeah 450K is A LOT but I'm sure she's gonna be OK.

If she can stabilise above 500k she will be a multiple well no1 still. Does anyone know how much of an affect the Brits had on streaming last year, if any?

Off the back of performances straight away: P!nk entered at #124, The 1975 at #58 etc and a lot of acts/winners had climbs

PCD are at #143, I'd kinda hoped HH would've helped them out a little more but at least they're still top 200

They're up 11 posiitons and should continue climbing as the new entries above continue to fall and their streams increase due to increased playlist support.

Last year the Brit Awards were on a Wednesday, so much of the streaming boost came on the Thursday which didn't count. With it being on a Tuesday this year, it should have more of an effect on this week's chart.
