Wow that was incredible, such a powerful episode and one of the best in a long while. Really interested for how it’ll play out on Monday

Lily has been recast for her return next week, she’ll be played by Lilia Turner. Not sure how I feel about that as Aine had played her for five years but maybe they’ve done it to start bringing her in to some more storylines

That was so powerful and a really chilling climax to the storyline. Chantelle / Jessica Plummer will be sorely missed, that episode really highlighted what an asset Jessica Plummer has been to the show since she joined and the importance of Chantelle's story.

I hope the aftermath and eventually Gray's comeuppance is as well handled and portrayed as that episode.

The black and silent credits were a nice touch - it was definitely one of those occasions where the 'doof doof' would have been jarring to what preceded it.

I didn’t add that on to my first post but yeah silent credits were definitely very much needed in tonight’s episode.

One of those episodes were both Julia’s theme and the usual doof doof would’ve felt wrong those silent black and white credits with the number for the charities involved in the story following immediately were an amazing added touch.

I’m still kinda numb after that episode. I really can’t take my mind off what I’ve just watched. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch that entire episode again (in the same way I couldn’t watch Murdered By My Boyfriend more than once) but it’ll definitely stick with me for a long while. EastEnders is always amazing when it delivers though and this was one of those times when it delivered!

That was the best episode of ANY soap in quite a long time for me, so tense even though I knew it was coming. Brilliant performance from Jessica in particular and a perfect ending to a storyline that really needed to be done in my opinion. Next week will be brilliant, far from being a shock explosive moment, this was a real climax to a storyline that still has places to go even though the main star is gone now.
How did Chantelle actually die? I was trying to work it out, I was thinking maybe she got impaled on a sharp object but no blood was shown.

I thought there was a shot of Gray with blood on his hand? But yeah she literally fell into everything in the dishwasher, that’s a lot of sharp objects

There was a knife in the dishwasher which so as she was pushed she was impaled onto it :(

Totally not at all how I expected her to die! I was convinced she was going to die in the bath.

The way it cut to black and ended with no music made it all the more chilling.

Best EE episode in a long, long time.

The way the silent credits at the end reflected the silence Chantelle had throughout this storyline too :(

I can’t stop thinking about that episode :( I’d kind of prepared myself for the last two weeks but I really didn’t expect her to die in that way too and for Gray to be as cold, calculating and calm as he was literally with no hesitation just heading out and making sure he’s seen by multiple people.

I’m definitely confident with the way that they’ve worked closely with charities that Gray is definitely getting found out and Chantelle will get justice. It would be a real moment if (like the knife crime story) we get some guest real like families on the show with their loved ones lost (I mean bc of the current situation it’s unlikely) but it would feel so poignant.

That was intense, heartbreaking and chilling.

This is is the type of episode that Eastenders does better than any other soap.. it’s compelling yet hugely difficult to watch.. without a shadow of a doubt the best episode in a long time and better than the hyped boat disaster earlier this year.

Brilliant acting with the characters of Chantelle & Gray. I love issue-based storylines and really hope this story arc somehow helps victims of abuse.. I’m kinda lost for words tbf

I’m struggling to get my head around the fact that Lily is now 10 years old.

Last night was the best episode of the year so far, even better than the anniversary I think. I’m still gutted Chantelle has no more to give as she had general potential as a character but this is what the storyline ultimately needed.

Wow I would never have noticed that.
Lol this is some next level detective shit but I guess it was included as it was always on the cards. Maybe it was due to happen sooner than it did because of lockdown
Re-watched and the acting really was top notch. That fleeting look of fear which flashed through Jessica Plummer's eyes when she saw Gray for the last time just before she died was absolutely chilling.

I didn't get round to watching it until this evening but I was still unaware of what was going to happen. I was hoping that Chantelle was pretending to be hurt and when Gray went upstairs to check on the children, that she would get up and be gone by the time he got back down but sadly that wasn't the case.

I noticed this episode was shown on film rather than video. I know those terms are obsolete when everything is filmed digitally nowadays but you'll know what I mean.

I also noticed Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode was being played in the Queen Vic. Thinking this was unlikely to be random,I've looked at the lyrics and some of them are pertinent to someone in Chantelle's situation.
