I rarely read reviews but I this time I wanted to check them before listening. Only QMagazine gave it 60/100, most other are 80 and 90... I wonder how Pitchfork will review it.

I will give it a listen on my way back to home, I hope it's 10/10 for me

This sounds great today in the sunshine. Love the album versions of Spotlight and Save a Kiss. Remember Where You Are is a wonderful closer, reminds me of 4Hero and is a great sound for her. Generally speaking everything is pretty good, although some do blend with others a little too much, still very much wish that Overtime was on it as it's my favourite thing she's ever done.
Just had my first spin and it sounds like such a cohesive record, Save A Kiss has really turned into one of my favourite Jessie songs to date.

I agree with Dandy's comments that some of this album sounds too samey at first. Undoubtedly every track is beautiful, but so far only 'What's Your Pleasure?' and 'Remember Where You Are' stand out strongly from the songs I hadn't already heard. I'm sure songs will grow and come into their own over time; 'Ooh La La' is a great example of that, which I wasn't fond of to begin with.

The album version of 'Spotlight' is lovely, although I don't think the album version of 'Save A Kiss' adds much to it.

I have a feeling that I'll be listening to this album A LOT.

I have slotted ‘Overtime’ between ‘Soul Control’ and ‘Save a Kiss’ — it doesn’t feel right for it not to be included.
Re. 'Overtime' - Jessie replied to a fan on Instagram a few weeks ago and said that 'Overtime' would be included on a deluxe version.

The production throughout this album is glorious, I imagine I'll be discovering new quirks and flourishes for some time to come! I agree that some songs blend into another but I too think that they'll grow with repeated listens. Everything is really good though and I'm loving the album versions of 'Ooh La La' and 'Save a Kiss'. I'm with Chemistry in that the latter could be my favourite song from Jessie! The title track is probably my favourite out of the new tracks.

It's good that 'Overtime' will be added to a deluxe version - it's too good to be left out of the era! It should be on the main edition though and somewhere within the tracking list rather than tacked on the end. It fits the sound of the album well and I think the album would benefit from one more upbeat number.

Every track is getting a video, starting with the title track (and one of my faves from listening earlier)

She's put so much effort in this project. I am totally in love with the effect. I need to listen more to judge if it's better than Devotion but surely better than 2 previous albums

Well done honey!

You can tell how much she’s loved making the album and it just makes it all the more gutting she hasn’t had a chance to perform it and gigs and festivals as planned!

What’s My Pleasure? and the final track were definitely standout highlights for me one first listen but it all sounded amazing overall. I actually can’t at Save a Kiss and Adore You being side by side - both absolute 11/10s and INCREDIBLE.

I gave this album a full listen this evening in my lounge, full volume over a bottle of wine (is there any better way to immerse yourself in a new album?)

The whole thing is a masterpiece. I like how 'In Your Eyes' and 'Step Into My Life' slow the pace a little before it picks up again, and also how some tracks are 5 minutes long but it really doesn't feel like it 'cos you just lose yourself in them.

If this album isn't gonna be appreciated commercially, I hope it can pick up critical and cult acclaim ala Emotion.

4/5 from NME

3/5 from Q

4/5 from The Independent

4/5 from The Times

9/10 from Clash Magazine

4/5 from The Guardian

Pretty good! (Q aside but their’s is in the magazine which I haven’t seen)

Me too! It fits the album so well, it's a crime it was left off!

A few listens in and this is definitely my favourite album of hers to date. I wasn't too fond of Ooh La La as a single but it sounds fine in the context of the album, Adore You really soars after Save a Kiss also. I think it's missing a couple more upbeat moments though so I've slotted in Imagine It Was Us and If You're Never Gonna Move as both fit fine within this sound and I don't find myself listening to Devotion too often any longer.

My preferred order is:

01 Spotlight

02 What's Your Pleasure

03 Ooh La La

04 Soul Control

05 Overtime

06 Save a Kiss

07 Adore You

08 If You're Never Gonna Move

09 Step Into My Life

10 Imagine It Was Us

11 Mirage (Don't Stop)

12 The Kill

13 Read My Lips

14 In Your Eyes

15 Remember Where You Are

Read My Lips is probably the weakest link for me, if I were to scrap any track it would be that.

I think it's missing a couple more upbeat moments though so I've slotted in Imagine It Was Us and If You're Never Gonna Move as both fit fine within this sound and I don't find myself listening to Devotion too often any longer.

Nice idea! I'll give your tracking list a listen as I too think a couple more upbeat moments would really have perfected this album.

#3 on the midweek update, behind HAIM and Bob Dylan. That position seems pretty set for Friday, making it her highest charting album to date! So deserved.
I was hoping she would onto the top 2, but 3 would still be very very good. Just hope she holds on, as I imagine her sales have been quite frontloaded.
Her competition will be Lewis Capaldi but there's set to be a 1.2k gap between them if both sell at the same rate. Lewis is slightly down week-on-week and he finished on 6.4k sales last week - Jessie is set for nearly 7.5k.
