11,005 units... yikes

Eek. It's such a good album too.

A major f*** up has been made somewhere, I wonder how many sales he lost out on this week?

I’d say he’s probably lost out on a fair number considering how many still haven’t been dispatched. Going by Twitter too it seems a lot of people are having problems with the UK store :drama:

A #12 peak is not great at all, and I can’t see it re-peaking sadly!

And we oop

#12 - Handwritten

#3 - Illuminate

#3 - Shawn Mendes

#12 - Wonder

Well, at least there's a pattern :kink:

It's such a disappointing peak and I don't know how it went QUITE that wrong! I know the single choices weren't the best but neither one has done THAT badly??

Here's my ranking of the album (after a 2nd listen - BLAME TAYLOR!!!!!!):

Teach Me How to Love

Higher

Wonder

305

24 Hours

Dream

Look Up At the Stars

Call My Friends

Piece Of You

Always Been You

Can't Imagine

Song For No One

Monstbleurgh (feat. Justin Bieber)

My main criticism with the intro (as gorgeous an intro as it is - and it's really stunning!) is that I wish it lead into 'Wonder' a bit more seemlessly. I find it quite jarring... does it mix better on CD, or can you kinda tell that it switches to the next song as obviously as it does when streaming? (If that makes sense? lmao)

'Wonder' continues to keep growing on me tbh. It's starting to hit me with more listens (which I haven't really listened to as much as I should, but last month was mainly about Little Mix for me x) 'Monstbleurgh' is so bland though. Definitely only a single due to it being a collab between them both. Quite annoying when there are at least 3 more songs on here worthy of the single treatment and likely won't be singles now!

'Teach Me How to Love' and 'Higher' are both brilliant. I feel like the former is exactly what 'Lost In Japan' tried to be, but he's managed to succeed in finding that funky, disco-esque, soulful pop bop! I like what he tries to do with 'Dream', a lot! It's quite different for him, but still very much a Shawn Mendes song. '305' is so much fun! Why do I think this will be the most underrated on the album?

The album loses me slightly towards the end, but overall it's a solid album and just different flares in the production throughout the album show how much he's progressed as an artist and has really moulded his usual style to suit the age he is. As of right now, I *think* I prefer his self-titled album overall, but the highs on this are just as strong and consistent.

Why are they suddenly reducing the album now? They could have done this earlier in the week to try and scrape a top 10 debut, but no that must have slipped their mind. :drama: Honestly the way his team have handled this whole campaign is incredibly frustrating. Fair enough it's managed to do well in the US/Canada, but surely you'd rather still put the effort in over here (and make sure copies are sent out from the store on time too!!) instead of dealing with a #12 peak with no chance of improvement?

Glad you're enjoying the album Jonjo  hadn't thought of the comparisons between Teach Me How to Love / Lost in Japan too, but now you say it, yes it's like the latter has been elevated a lot and crafted into something amazing with the former! :o

Officially debuts at #1 on Billboard, meaning all four of his albums have done this now! Incredible :cheeseblock:

Just received a response from the UK store saying that there's been a delay receiving the zine from the supplier, hence why my order hasn't been dispatched yet (including the deluxe CD, vinyl and cassette too).

I find it hard to believe that many people will have ordered the zine alongside copies of the album too though, so eek at the sales. I believe there are still quite a few people that haven't received other orders without the zine too though!

It's annoying that we've not been able to get a true reflection of how this album has performed. I think we all expected a decrease from his last album but I still expected it to clear 15k, which it might have done if all sales had been accounted for. Who knows? The drop this week is quite significant too, although the percentage decrease probably isn't as bad when you compare to his previous albums. I think releasing so close to Christmas turned out to be a mistake in the end - I thought he could probably get away with it but ultimately it's not worked. Let's see if it can recover next year with the help of a new single.
I mean if there's pre-orders then it will repeak probably in January :selena:

Down to #55 today :selena:

I’m hoping my order of the CD/zine/vinyl/cassette ships next week, so hopefully if there are other people in the same boat it won’t completely free-fall out of the top 100 x

I thought its streams may have held up okay despite the big official drop, but it's down 10-45. :( Still, that's actually helping out as it's down 17-71 on sales!
