March 3, 20206 yr Seriously, WHAT is going on with 'Physical'? To my ears it sounds like the most surefire smash of the year, and I just don't get how it's struggling to even get Top 10 after a month on release.

I think it is just still being overshadowed by 'Don't Start Now' unfortunately, that seems to have had a noticeable second wind since 'Physical' came out. It's still been holding up pretty well and I am hopeful that it'll still eventually go top 10 (maybe a similar scenario to Sam Smith's 'How Do You Sleep?'), perhaps when the album comes out if nothing else?

Completely agree, It’s got such an infection beat and I am surprised at how it’s doing, I guess it don’t help that Don’t start now is still really well.

March 3, 20206 yr A lot of my friends still think Don’t Start Now is Duas new single not Physical. They need to switch the two around on streaming playlists or smth. Physical could well be her “Into You” though. LGBT fan fave, massive hit what misses top ten but becomes bigger than hits what will outpeak it.

IMO it was released too soon . Don’t start now is still in the top 5 in many international charts including the US, her management should’ve waited until it started fading before pushing Physical....
March 4, 20206 yr I think it was a bit of bad luck, cos DSN seemed dead in the UK in Early Jan, so I think the label's idea of releasing Physical was initially good problem was that suddenly DSN exploded in the US and went top 10, and suddenly DSN was track #1 on every imaginable playlist on Spotify including all the global playlists like Today's Top Hits but also the UK playlists like Hot Hits so this second wind thanks to the US success, kept the momentum going for DSN in detriment of Physical at this point her label could have decided to prioritise Physical over DSN in the UK, but they didn't, so they decided it was better to have DSN longer in the top 5 even if it wouldn't reach a new peak than have a 2nd big hit... I think if Physical had been placed on top of HH and higher than DSN, it would sure be top 5 by now, even higher... but since its release it's been always behind DSN on HH
