OK so Resilient was my least fave of the new tracks... but it's an ear worm and I've come around to it already :')

 

NTWOTW lends itself to being a post album release with an added feature too! I could lowkey hear Post Malone on a verse.

I've just listened to this while having my breakfast and really like it on first listen. 'Cry About It Later' in particular sounds great.

Listen I'm a fan of Small Talk and Daisies... but imagine sitting on songs like Cry About it Later, Not The End of the World, Champagne Problems and letting Katy's star fade with these bizarre choices?

Just given this a first listen on Spotify. My top 3...

Overall its a good album. There are some tracks that aren't really what I would normally listen to, but certainly will grow on me.

Decent. Better than Witness, not quite as good as Prism but more cohesive, not a patch on Teenage Dream.

Teary Eyes is my early standout. Not The End of the World isn't bad (also would've been a MUCH better single to drop this year than Daisies) but is a wee bit too much like Dark Horse lite as well - production could've switched up just a bit.

This is just what I need right now lmao. Wonderful album, not a bad song and contrary to the reviews I actually think Katy explores some new ground both lyrically and sonically. Resilient, Only Love, Tucked And Not the End especially sound so fresh for her.

 

EDIT: The picture disc has arrived, so pretty :wub: Oh and Diddy doesn't say the N-word on Smile so idk what on earth that was about earlier in the thread? :lol:

OK so this is the first Katy Perry album I've actually liked all the way through :o I definitely was NOT expecting that. There's actually not a song I've wanted to skip! Completely agree on how much they messed up the singles though, in Katy's own words that was such an epic fail :lol:

there’s actually some awesome material here - ‘teary eyes’, ‘tucked’ + ‘not the end of the world’ are standouts for me. ‘resilient’ has really strong verses but the chorus lets it down massively.

Oh and Diddy doesn't say the N-word on Smile so idk what on earth that was about earlier in the thread? :lol:

When I listened on Apple Music he wasn’t on Smile at all! Is he only on the actual CD / physical copies? I don’t think he’s on the digital versions either.

I’ve listened again and that whole part is there but it’s faded out on the n-word and it doesn’t appear at all on the lyrics page. The rap improves the song for sure.

 

Anyway, Tucked is my new obsession :cheeseblock: Teary Eyes is lowkey lower tier for me :o Not The End of The World, not Katy giving us trap pop *.* Genre bender.

all the new songs are really good but none of them are standing out for me on first listen apart from OL aha! Such a major step-up from Witness tho tf and a really slolid album! <3
