Two current moods that I keep switching between:

02) ...oh go on then, one more time *spams 10 times in a row*

Please do so but with another Ariana/Gaga track in between because otherwise, that would be regarded as bot behavior for charts!! :o

5 years ago this became the first all-female collaboration in history to debut at #1 on the US Hot 100. History was made

The spoken word RAIN. ON. ME. is surely destined to be one of Gaga's most iconic moments in song. :cheeseblock: I live for it. :cheeseblock:

I hope the Grammys 2021 happen properly so we get a performance from LG and Ari!!

I'm a Madonna fan so this isn't me hating but it's the truth

In fairness and I'm not taking a side but it's clear Madge saw Gaga as a copycat while that can't really be said for Ari/Gaga, as much as Gaga has influenced EVERY pop girl in the last 10 years. But hasn't Madonna warmed on Gags a bit or that might be my imagination lol

I think the biggest issue Madonna had with Gaga although Madonna will never admit this is that Madonna low key is well aware Gaga is much more talented than she ever was. Gaga could vocally annihilate Madonna and she doesn’t need the big production as she has the talent to just captivate people by her pure vocal alone. I love Madonna but there’s no contest at all on who the one with pure talent is. Madonna has drive ambition creativity etc but come on Gagas pure talent as a musician blows Ms out the water.

They are similar but others have copied Madonna and she hasn’t went on that way with them the way she did Gaga and that’s to me what’s telling

Madonna is, and always will be, the one that paved the way for others though.

Madonna strained so Gaga could belt

Madonna was upset she didn't get credited for Born This Way (which according to my best friend, Lady Gaga plugged Express Yourself in electrical outlet and created Born This Way )

Surely the fairest comparison would be

Madonna - Britney

Gaga - Ariana

I think Madonna's "issue" with Gaga was that some of it probably seemed a bit copycat-ish as opposed to just being influenced by, with Gaga (I don't think so personally). The Born This Way/Express Yourself comparisons brought that to a peak. But yeah, back then it was in the press' nature to pit other women against each other and stir the pot more and Madonna being Madonna took the bait, whereas Gaga just stepped back from it most (all? - icr if she quipped back at all or not) of the time. But yeah they're now ok, aren't they? (Although you can never tell with Madge :') and it doesn't excuse her attitude towards Gaga and Gaga's whole "I'm gonna be that woman for Ariana that wasn't there for me" (or whatever that quote was) was stunning and such a pure move <3!

I imagine it was perpetuated by the media and Madonna probably saw it as good promotion. Take the infamous 'reductive' interview - Madonna said complimentary things about Gaga in the lead up to that comment, but that's not what the interviewer wanted to hear as it didn't fit the narrative that was being pushed at the time.

Gaga is a naturally very warm and open person whereas Madonna is more reserved which I think can make the differences between the two more prominent than they may actually be.

They are in good terms now, but I believe it's very hard to make friends with Madonna. She has her very close friends (such as Debi Mazar) but she's not really famous of spending time with everyone. I think she's more family orientated than a social butterfly?
