January 22, 20214 yr A few listens in and it's very coherent, I can see myself returning to this a lot just like their debut :wub:Â There's an overall vibe to this that make me feel like I'm listening to an Enigma remix album. It definitely has me tapping along but it's also a really relaxing listen on the whole, you can tell they said they were designing it for home listening.
January 22, 20214 yr Yeah I've really enjoyed this first listen. It took me ages to fully appreciate how good the debut was but can see me going on to like it as much, Saku is incredible and for an individual track thought Fir was great on first listen.
January 23, 20214 yr Author I really didn't get a chance to listen to this properly as I was getting ready for work yesterday so I've put my headphones in today, sat down and just listened. Woah, what an album honestly, the production these two put together on every track is just stunning. Saku following Apricots is a moment *.* I like that they've put Lido in the middle as like a brief chilled break before the quirkyness of X kicks in. I think X is probably my favourite of the album tracks so far, but Rever is also up there! Another solid, beautiful album I can definitely see becoming another favourite to go with their debut too. Here's where we're at after 1 day! iTunes - #1 Apple Music - #1 Amazon Download - #1 Amazon Physical - #18 (Vinyl), #23 (CD) Their debut album got to #20 when it was released in 2017, but I can see this going Top 5!
January 23, 20214 yr The first few seconds of the intro of Apricots reminds me a bit of Awolnation - Sail. Does anyone else think this? Its overall good but could do with a little bit more of a beat to it in parts and a less repetitive vocal. Strange it's looking like it will be a UK top 40 hit this week. January 24, 20214 yr Author I was waiting all day for the Spotify update and it didn't disappoint! Apricots in the Top 40 along with several album tracks in the Top 200 :cheeseblock:
January 24, 20214 yr Author I'm not sure Apricots will sustain enough to go Top 40, it's already down into the 60s on Spotify and 41 on Apple Music. I will welcome the climb it's likely to get from its current peak though.
