March 27, 20206 yr I see why R1 has switched 'Physical' with 'Break My Heart', but I wish it was done maybe 2-3 weeks later? Let Physical reach its peak at least :(
March 27, 20206 yr poor Physical :/ they could have done a dual Physical/Break my Heart rotation not many interesting adds, looks like the love they used to have for L Mix is finished...
March 27, 20206 yr Double Martain Solveig on the A List Gutted they didn't add Alan Fitzpatrick this week.
March 27, 20206 yr poor Physical :/ they could have done a dual Physical/Break my Heart rotation not many interesting adds, looks like the love they used to have for L Mix is finished... They played it twice this morning so I highly doubt it'll be snubbed. I like all the artists involved, but 'Tequila' is legitimately one of the most embarrassing tracks I've heard all year (perhaps second to only 'Birthday') so ugh at that progressing to the A-list. Double ugh at 'Break My Heart' replacing the massively superior 'Physical'. Yay for The Weeknd though.
March 27, 20206 yr Author I agree 'Physical' and 'Break My Heart' could have shared an A-list spot for a couple of weeks but never mind. I'm sure they'll still give 'Physical' a few spot plays anyway. Little Mix's last couple of singles were both insta-added on release day so I'm a little surprised the new one hasn't but I'm sure they'll add it next week. Ellie and Rita stalling on the C-list is a little worrying for both artists, they'll probably progress to B next week but doubt either of them will make the A-list.
March 27, 20206 yr Why "poor Physical?" It's had 8 weeks straight on the A-list? More that Physical is still hitting new chart peaks this far into its chart run so it could peak even higher with radio support. Other songs get added whilst the momentum is with them but Physical got playlisted straight away after release.

I guess, but it's going to be Top 5 this week and is unlikely to go #1 so they may as well focus on the new single now. It'll receive it's boost from the album release and will be stable on Spotify for the foreseeable, so they probably see it as job done.

Yeah I agree actually, 'Physical' has become a Top 5 hit now so it makes sense to focus on getting a third hit for the era.
March 27, 20206 yr I am surprised that 'Physical' has been entirely removed instead of switched to a dual playlist spot at least for a week or two but nevermind... haven't heard the new song yet, will check out her album some time this week. Good to see The Weeknd straight to the B-List (although I feel I am going to be eternally salty that 'Save Your Tears' isn't the new single x), C-List additions don't look like they're up to much this week, the Gambino song is kind of cool but ultimately didn't leave too much of an impression on me on first listen, might be a grower possibly.
March 27, 20206 yr Quite shocked 'Physical' was dumped straight away but I guess it might be hitting it's peak chart wise but radio 1 has done its job - let the commercial stations play it for another 6 months!
