I thought hacking a murdered girl's phone and making extreme false accusations against British soldiers was a real low for the British media. It was then that things really should have changed.

The Leveson inquiry was a real wake-up call, a massive opportunity wasted to bring the UK media into a professional standard.

Some tories on twitter are now trying to victimise Cummings by comparing him to Caroline Flack. When you think they can't get any lower.......
So to protect his child, he put him in a car in close proximity to two people who already had or were developing symptoms of Covid-19 and then drove for over 4 hours? MAKES A LOT OF SENSE THAT. Keep defending him because of your political beliefs though my friend, it discredits you as a person more and more the longer it goes on!

They're his parents, they're hardly going to leave their child with a stranger.

It's you that is being discredited because you don't use any common sense. You're blinded by your hatred towards people like Dom Cummings.

The right continue to benefit from a mainstream media that is owned by a few billionaires acting in their own self interest — you would be very unhappy if that changed.

Well, unless it changed to state propaganda.

Yesterday your witch hunting mainstream media verbally assaulted Dom when he was outside his home with his child in his arms.

Why don't you start criticising our media instead of the "Tories" for once in your life.

I'm very unhappy with our media now. I thought that was obvious by now.

The UK media need reform, BIG TIME!

What reforms do you have in mind?

I just don't think you can use the defence of protecting his child - esp. as most families once 1 family member were infected were very likely to all become infected, with the guidance clearly stating that you should remain at your primary residence. If that was not the case then pretty much everyone with children was therefore entitled to take this action, premptively or otherwise. That's before you consider the danger of driving a car with your child when ill and at the risk of a potential accident..

I think I probably would have accepted it as a transgression under stress in a scary situation had an apology been forthcoming, I don't have children so can't relate, but the arrogance and contempt that he has shown for the public since has made up my mind (whatever my previous opinion of Cummings - and I was a RELUCTANT remainer and accepted the result of the referendum by the way, not that it has ANY relevance to this issue whatsoever).

The media wasn't divided at all on this, they all thought Brexit wasn't going to happen, they all laughed at the idea of Trump becoming President, they were all calling for a 2nd referendum.

And yes the mainstream media in the UK are evil. You can quote me on that every day all day.

Look I know you love to see Brexit as your little 'people's coup', but the measure of media power is not their predictions, it is their endorsements and editorial views. Of which about half of were for all of those.

I think this sentence is the clearest indication of projecting you've done in this little return.

Dom should have just started coughing all over the journalists and paparazzi, he did warn them about social distancing. But as usual with the British media, it's one rule for them, another one for the rest of us.

So you don't hate Dom Cummings, and yet you've shown a lot of interest in this story for someone who hasn't done anything wrong.

The biggest democratic decision in British history and you call it a "little people's coup"

You need to wake up. What kind of bubble are you living in.

Nice!

I actually agree with your very general point about the media but what you fail to realise is that 90% of the time they've benefited the tories and not held them to account for their handling of this crisis, see certain newspapers having that scientist who broke the lockdown rules as it's big headline then buried a failure of the government in a tiny section at the bottom of the page. The Mirror and Guardian are very much in a minority as far as the press goes. The most influential newspapers are right wing.

I didn't realise there was a final boss after Chris and Vidcapper.

Such as?
Well, this is clearly going around in circles. Cummings, the most senior advisor to Johnson, broke lockdown regulations — regulations which 'normal people' have been arrested or fined for. It's really quite simple.

One rule for them, one rule for us.

The biggest selling newspapers in the UK are right wing, however all newspapers sales are falling dramatically now.

He did not break any rules. Dom was in exceptional circumstances, either he leaves his child alone with no-one to look after him or he can take his child to someone he can trust.

Now start using your common sense.
