Join me as I take us on a walk through (pardon the pun) of some of the most iconic games from the 2000s. I won't be doing a countdown, ans instead it will be in a random order. Feel free to add your own! At the end, I will rank them in order of favourite.

The early 2000s brought us the end days of the PS1, the PS2, Xbox, the GameCube, and then from 2006 on, we had the PS3 and Xbox 360 and the Wii. We had iconic games from most major franchises, from Final Fantasy to Resident Evil. It was an incredible era of gaming, and it brought us the best-selling consoles of all time: Ps2, Wii, and the DS. There are so many games across the ten years that I will have to limit myself to my top 20.

It’s a shame you never added to this, Michael! It would be an interesting thread!

Gaming wise for me the 2000s was all about the SIMs-any PC version and Bustin Out for ps2, Simpson’s road rage and hit and run, Tomb Raider Legend, the original Star Wars Battlefront, Spyro and the Lego games.

Ahh sorry! I got distracted by some pointless quiz tonight. Hopefully I can continue this in one way or the other after teams!

First up is: Spyro: Year of The Dragon

Being released in 2000, the actual year of the dragon, and famously so, was a brilliant marketing move.

This was the only one of the three Insomniac Spyro games released in the nre millennium, and it easily rivals Spyro 2 in quality. All subsequent games - up until Reignited - were not with Insomniac and had lost their way.

The problem with Spyro 3 -aside from the odd mini game, such as Yeti boxing - which had been put in because Insomniac had "run out of ideas" and only hsd a year to implement them - was that the homeworlds were smaller and less evocative than Spyro 2's. They were less detailed and well laid out.

However, my problems with the iamspamspamamisink mini games and less well-developed (compared to S2) world maps are relatively small. The game itself is easily one of - if not THE - best platformers ever. It is full of colour, energy, life, and is just bundles of fun. It was the worst selling Spyro as it came out at the arse-end of the Ps1 era, but it was quite possibly the best. 2 and 3 are interchangeable for many.

SPYRO YAS

That dragons veen a fave despite me gettinf a headache everytime I played her games

Ooh I loved Spyro! I always got so annoyed when I got stuck on a level though, one particular one felt impossible and basically ended my enjoyment of the game oops.

I read this thinking board games to begin with

I got Spyro for Christmas 2019 and it was fun but frustrating at times lol. That high wall at the start especially but I got there!

Year Of The Dragon was the first game I ever completed and that’s the reason I bought the entire trilogy for Switch  memories

Tony Hawk Underground

Grand Theft Auto

Both weren't very long though as i gravitated to wrestling games for the most part and the shrek game lol ;')

I've played some Need For Speed games, such as Hot Pursuit 2, Underground 2, Most Wanted (most iconic series), Carbon, and Undercover.

Wonder if anyone know this PS2 game called Downhill Domination:

Grand Prix 3

This was based on the 1998 Formula One Season, a fantastic game this was on the PC.
