Apparently only Emma and Mel B wanted to. Victoria was all up for it but when she saw it flopping and Mel C not wanting to do any more promo, she decided to also agree to stop it.

I just had a peak at the comments across social media for the Forever25 post they did today and my god, they are being really eviscerated... They really f***ed up big time with this release... All they had to do was the bare minimum (new cover and the Lostboy remix of Holler)...

Mostly fans are pissed today about the pictures which are from 1998 (the tour and How Does It Feel video shoot) but overall, they certainly can't expect many people to be buying this at all...

I almost want to buy it just out of pity for them LOL

To celebrate the release of Forever25, they have just uploaded in 4K quality the live performance of Goodbye at Earl's Court to YouTube... Easily could have been part of a 2CD for Forever25...

@Mr.X Even the live tracks from this concert would have been great on the EP. Nice to see another upload and from another tour/concert.

A couple of articles and press release by Universal Music Group released today for the Forever anniversary also talk about the original scrapped album in 1999 (as well as a bunch of songs that were recorded but ultimately scrapped for the 3rd album once Geri left):

The live album which was planned for a November 1998 release should have been released on Spiceworld 25.

I highly doubt the group would approve it to be commercially released as its own separate thing. A live Spice Girls album from 1998 is not going to chart well in 2025.

With Spiceworld25 it could have pushed the album to 6th platinum as well

Sure... But what if we are getting the Christmas in Spiceworld live album instead???

For me, that would be perfect as it is one of their very best live concerts overall 😄

Plus, since there is no Geri, maybe they were finally able to release it by using the 4-member is enough rule lol

So. It occurs to me...when there was that tease in the mailer recently...cryptically including the lyrics to WOMAN...

...that's likely just referring to an upcoming 4K video release of the WOMAN performance at Earls Court.

Yeah we discussed about this several pages back. It’s the least they could do for us and it looks likely that is what they are giving us in term of WOMAN. Lol.

Why do they act so embarrassed by the band? They're the biggest girl band ever!!! Geri was embarrassed by it at thr HEIGHT!!! of their fame and Mel C nit one year later... As id they could do better than THE BIGGEST GIRL ABDN EVER, which only 5 people can claim to have been a part of in the entirety of human history!!!

It’s sad to see how little care appears to have gone into this anniversary.

It is my least favourite era of the 3 but it would’ve been nice to get some songs that missed the original release as a surprise/bonus.
