April 24, 20205 yr Updated list: Tonight (11) 12 if you include Genesis' hit 'Tonight, Tonight, Tonight' (or you may have already included it). Forever (13) Three of them being eurotrance hits which charted in the second half of 2002 (Dee Dee, N-Trance, Trinity X).
April 24, 20205 yr Similarly there appears to be more hits with the nonexistent word 'everytime' in their title than there are with 'every time'. Sigh. Britney got me spelling it 'everytime' for so long.
April 24, 20205 yr Star - 9 (not sure where you got your 10 from, I'm guessing you counted Top 100 hits rather than Top 75?) According to The Complete Book Of The British Charts, these are all different songs, and all were Top 75: Stealers Wheel Nazareth Earth Wind And Fire Kiki Dee Second Image Erasure D:Ream Cult Bryan Adams Primal Scream
April 24, 20205 yr Author I'm missing D:Ream - it was a double A-side with 'I Like It' which is why it didn't appear in my search (I was doing a whole word search on 'Star'). I should have remembered that one because I'm sure I have the single.
April 24, 20205 yr 12 if you include Genesis' hit 'Tonight, Tonight, Tonight' (or you may have already included it). i wouldn't, but if you did you'd have to count 'Tonight Tonight' by the Smashing Pumpkins as well. Did you include the Westlife one?
April 24, 20205 yr According to The Complete Book Of The British Charts, these are all different songs, and all were Top 75: Stealers Wheel Nazareth Earth Wind And Fire Kiki Dee Second Image Erasure D:Ream Cult Bryan Adams Primal Scream Kiki Dee's one is the only one I think I know out of them.
April 24, 20205 yr Author Are you planning on updating this on a regular basis, Mango? No I wasn't planning to, it was just something that came to mind so I thought I'd post it and see what other song titles people could come up with. i wouldn't, but if you did you'd have to count 'Tonight Tonight' by the Smashing Pumpkins as well. Did you include the Westlife one? Missed the Westlife one, once again caught out by a double A-side! Now added to its count.
April 25, 20205 yr I found this list online; According to Wiki, “Let it go” has been the title for a song a whopping 42 times, at least: "Let It Go" (Alexandra Burke song), 2012 "Let It Go" (Brit & Alex song), 2008 “Let It Go" (Def Leppard song), 1981 "Let It Go" (Devlin song), 2011 "Let It Go" (Disney song), from the 2013 movie Frozen, sung by Idina Menzel, covered by Demi Lovato "Let It Go" (Dragonette song), 2012 "Let It Go!" April 25, 20205 yr A bit lower down in the league table: 'One' has nine top 75 hits but the U2, U2 and Mary J Blige and Glee Cast versions are of course all versions of the same song. There are also 9 'Without You' 's with one cover (Mariah Carey's cover of the original Nilsson song) - and I didn't know it was a cover until recently. There are 8: Magic Music Tomorrow I Like It Wonderful I thought there would have been more of each of these. Edited April 25, 20205 yr by dandruff*
April 25, 20205 yr Author What about Secret / secrets Secret Love Secret - 2 Secrets - 7 Secret Love - 7 I found this list online; Wow that's a lot of 'Let It Go's! Although only 6 of those 42 songs were singles that reached the Top 75. I'm sure if we were to try and find all recorded songs called 'Stay', 'Crazy' or 'Home' we'd find much more than that. I might have a look and see how many songs on spotify there are called each of those actually.
April 25, 20205 yr I remember 'Star' by Primal Scream - it's from Vanishing Point, which is their best album (don't @ me) I also remember the controversy over the lyric which implied that Rosa Parks was dead, even though she wasn't. She lived another 8 years. ps - 'Girls' by the Beastie Boys was part of a double A-side.
April 25, 20205 yr Boyfriend - 16 Ahh nevermind actually only 7. But 3 in the past 8 months! Edited April 25, 20205 yr by No Sleeep
April 26, 20205 yr A couple of years ago it felt like every other song was called "Friends" or F-R-I-N-D-S in the case of the Marshmello/Anne Marie song :D
April 26, 20205 yr I found several 8s yesterday on Polyhex but never posted them. Now I forget them.
