The BuzzJack forum contest 'AF Idol 2.0' has begun! :cheer:

Round 1's theme is 'Free Choice', which means we can send any song we like (some of the future rounds will have more constrictive themes)!

 

The tactic for this round... we should probably play it reasonably safe and send a hit single, but maybe not their very biggest or most loved. This round is a triple elimination and we definitely don't want to be amongst the first forums to leave! The mods appreciate all feedback! We have until 3rd May 23:59 GMT to finalise our first entry.

My thought was to go with Who Do You Think You Are, what do you guys think?

That seems like a fairly middle of the road song from them that should survive this first round! Before seeing your suggestion, 'Holler' was my choice but I suppose that could be saved for later ^_^

Not sure Holler will be as popular outside the fan base sadly, while I think WDYTYA has more general appeal.

Don't get me wrong Holler is in my top 5 Spice Girls songs... but I don't think it's as loved outside of the core fanbase :cry:

There's an upcoming round where that song could be a good choice, but no spoilers at this stage :kink:

If we could get some feedback on Who Do You Think You Are vs I Turn to You, that would be helpful! We have about 4 hours left until we need to confirm.

That's an interesting idea for sure...

I turn to you could work well for this round.

I was trying to think of a solo track that is as evergreen as the group singles. I can't really think of one.

 

I'd be surprised if I Turn To You is popular among non-fans. I reckon When You're Gone would fair better. But would still be a huge gamble.

I Turn to You has a lot of fans in the chart forum, as does 'Never Feel the Same Again'. 'Maybe' and 'Mi Chico Latino' both seem popular too.

We had a discussion about NBTSA or WYG for a future round actually... all will be revealed.

 

We decided to push ahead with WDYTYA as there wasn't any opposition to it.
