First Day Of My Life by Mel C. was never a single in UK :kink:

 

 

Oooh that is true wonder if we could get around it with that!?!?

 

It's her biggest european single for sure.

 

I am interested to know why they never bothered giving UK release?!!

 

 

Something to do with it not being commercial enough for radio. The single belongs to the European label it was purchased by them or something and they didn't feel that UK radio would respond to it so were not willing to fund it's release.

My thoughts are it's either Naked for Spice Girls or something like Closer by Melanie C.

It can't be a non-UK single by the way, it must purely be an album track, so no First Day of My Life or The Moment You Believe :cry:

 

Naked definitely seems like the only viable track for Spice Girls to use (Forever album ballads seem way too risky). Melanie C's Closer could be a nice choice! It's definitely an unfortunate round for us. Spice Girls released all their best ballads from their 3 albums as singles!

Just remembered that Closer is almost 6 minutes long, I wonder if that'll be off putting to people? :(

Don't get me wrong, I love Naked. But I imagine we'll be up against so some belting vocals.

 

I also rate Melanie C 'Version of Me'. But I'll stop now with the suggestions.

Just listening to 'Naked' now, it has a different vibe to what I imagine other AFs will be sending which could work in its favour, but on the other hand I fear it's too minimalistic for non-fans to give a chance.

I wouldn't dare send that one it's a good song but even I find her voice a little bit grating on here and for those who don't like Mel's voice (of which there are a few) I can imagine this putting them off.

I agree with you on this. Sorry to say. I love the song but I think the marginally (intentionally?) discordant "Dro-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-own" is might kill it for non-fans
