That doesn’t really make sense though? One of the only things that didn’t work last time was the fact that everything was randomised, essentially throwing the forum under the bus and making them automatically eliminated just because a mod missed the deadline or so! It makes the discussion thread a bit pointless and unessential, especially if the mods have even mentioned in the thread which songs they’re thinking of. The mods of each forum obviously have the final choice, but if they’ve failed to submit it, it should fall back on the discussion thread.

 

I think if it happens in future rounds the fairest way is to randomise out of songs mentioned or to choose the most mentioned single.

It’s more of a general point if it occurs for any forum in any future round. I think that approach is the most logical and fairest and continues the competition, rather 95% chance of automatically eliminating that forum and rendering the discussion pointless.

Essentially it’s to encourage the mods/members to discuss songs & ultimately submit a choice before the deadline! If we didn’t impose this, all the forums could take a more lackadaisical approach to the process, and then inner circle would have to spend time sifting through each thread to find every choice mentioned. Therefore for speed, we shuffle an artist’s playlist & the first song is what’ll be sent. This provides an incentive for mods to PM before the deadline.
