Ik it's a great album, but CT... I dunnoooooo. I guess it's advantage is that it's on such a forum favourite album, I just don't know how it'll react to casuals.

It'll stand out amongst the other ballads though.

We can confirm that our Round 7 entry for "Ballad Album Track" is...

Crocodile Tears!

The final track on the much celebrated album Tangled Up! This one is not a typical emotional ballad - I think this is quite an edgy sounding track. Let's show our support for the Girls Aloud forum by voting for it, alongside 7 of your other favourite songs in the list!

The AF Idol hosts encourage you to listen to all the songs before you choose!

Seems like Girls Aloud are struggling in this round! If you haven't already done so, remember to vote *.*
I’ve not seen the other song entries but Sticks + Stones (stunning) would have been a much better choice than Crocodile Tears (meh) tbh.

Agree, Sticks & Stones would have easily been in my top 3.

And we're out :(

I personally have no regrets with our choice of Crocodile Tears. I wouldn't have had much more confidence in Nicola tbh... she can be a very polarising artist vocally. I suppose it would have interesting to see how she fared again, but it was nice to give a great track from Tangled Up its moment, even if that moment lead us to leaving the contest x

We can't do well every time of course - we came 3rd in AF Idol 1.0, so different artists are getting more moments to shine this time.

Girls Aloud did not deserve to go. I think you made the right choice for this though, 'Sticks + Stones' might have been a surprise hit in the competition but it was too risky to be confident about. 'Crocodile Tears' made sense with it being a GA track and being from their best regarded album.
That's such a shame, it was definitely one of the most tracks this round and I am quite surprised people didn't seem to get behind it.

The number of people saying we “deserved” to go out :drama: :(

I suppose it’s not a track for everyone, but I don’t recall seeing much hate towards Crocodile Tears over the years. I suppose I had mostly only seen the opinions of people who are really into Girls Aloud though.

I'm assuming Nicola's album is on Spotify in the UK? It isn't here, which might be a disadvantage if she couldn't be on the playlist.
One week later... Nicola's album has appeared on Spotify here for, I believe, the first time! :o I choose to believe it's somehow related :')

Edit: oh actually, it was from the 'Pop Activism' twitter account for the record:

I wonder in which countries it wasn't available, as it has always been online here in mainland Europe. Good to see it's not out there worldwide, hope she can pick up a few extra streams as well, since it's incredibly unfair she only has around 18k monthly listeners at the moment.

Edit: just noted they have uploaded a new version of the album now, including four live tracks and another edition that has a track-by-track description.
