:o :cheer: I'm pleasantly surprised!

Call My Name felt absolutely massive while it was being promoted and in its first week on sale, but it fizzled out more quickly than I expected it to (4 weeks in the Top 10, 9 weeks in the Top 40). By the end of 2012 it had sold 421,200 (Gold) and ended as the 34th best seller of the year.

I'm glad its finally gone Platinum, even if it did take 9 years in the end!

Really hoping that The Loving Kind is on the verge of Silver now, I'm so impatient for that to happen! Then Girls Aloud would finally have ten certified singles.

Call my name is a great song. I spent my Summer 2012 in Turkey and the song was everywhere from radio to music TV stations. Global musical legend haha x

I'm impatient for The Loving Kind to certify  I feel like it should be fairly imminent, unless its streaming has really slowed down.

What are the current sales of I’ll stand by you? It wasn’t on the list of the most recent sales update?
The most recent sales for that are 252,727 as of August 2019!

It’s painful how slowly that sells. 12k in 2 years :( It deserves 12k a month x

I'm not surprised as The Show barely does anything on Spotify, but still disappointing of course. Just like in general it's so disappointing they were big during an era in which singles sales were so criminally low. 136K is such a low number in general.

I agree, I feel like this is one of their forgotten singles which is a shame as it was everywhere at the time of it's release. It was the perfect first single from the album I love it, and the video!

If only they'd added a few more to that total with another album era in 2009 and/or 2010

They really chose the most stupid time to break up! I'm not saying they would have had exactly Cheryl's solo success but there is no doubt she took what would have become their 'golden era' and reaped the benefits of it herself. From the break to the finale reunion Cheryl achieved 5 more top 10 hits which I'm sure would have been Girls Aloud's had they released the singles during that period.

Okay but The Show's sales figure is CRIMALLY HOMOPHOBIC.

Agreed!!

The official charts today posted an update on 'The Promise' sales 712,140
The Promise trickle sales are very slow considering what a big hit it was at the time. I can see Love Machine outselling it eventually.

Great  Hopefully Something Kinda Ooooh isn’t too far behind.

Also The Loving Kind has to be silver soon?? It’s taking ages!
