I have the Cherry Red one so am passing on this vinyl…it’s a solid album, very clear PWL were investing in Kylie as it’s a vastly better collection of songs and lyrics than their other artist albums.

However, I’ve always disliked the artwork and imagery. It’s so daggy as Kylie and Dannii would say…Kath and Kim would love it though ha ha.

Oh yes it matched up well with her ‘girl next door’ pop persona.

Any update on the mids today? Still top 20?
Officially Number 30 this week :music: :music: :w00t:  :cheer:  :yahoo:

Thankfully it stayed top 30 (even if just about) and also we got a sales update.

It didn't make the top 100 here in Ireland this week.

Released in neon pink and clear aquamarine vinyl editions to mark its 35th birthday, Kylie Minogue’s 1988 debut album Kylie re-enters the Top 75 (No.30, 3,675 sales) for the very first time since it completed its initial 67-week chart run – including six weeks at No.1 – in 1989. Also known as Kylie: The Album, it has to-date sales of 2,138,841.
Her debut on 7 times platinum is great, i know it will never make 8 but its still a great achievement for pure sales.

The total for 'Kylie' was 2,134,461 on 5th October and 2,135,166 prior to this week (30th November); 705 chart sales sold in 8 weeks which is an average of 88 chart sales per week. For comparison, 'Fever' has been averaging 124 chart sales per week for the past two years.

Album Sales Chart: #7

Physical Album Chart: #6

Vinyl Album Chart: #2

Record Store Chart: #1

I thought the weekly average between her debut and fever would be far bigger.

I would have thought the same, but to be fair to the general public they're both ancient albums that contain equally big hits that would get streamed on a similar level.

Kylie 88 does ok on streaming though, six higher profile tracks that are slowly gaining momentum. Lucky and Loco are a class apart of course but the other 4 have increased their stream rate.

If they added EFY to it digitally it would make a difference too as it’s picking up listeners at a good rate.

Fever has a giant hit, two big hits and one decent hit…otherwise the average of the rest will be similar to the debut.

Her debut has the big hits and for me classic kylie, especially for you I agree should be added digitally as that does get streamed which would help the album a tiny bit more.

Her debut is just such a fun album for the most part and I like to think most fans still enjoy the album and appreciate how big an era it was.

It’s a cute album and deserves a revisit. She sounds so young it’s so nostalgic.
