The album sleeve in itself always takes me right back to my childhood as it was such a moment when i finally got the album on cassette, as i have said a few times i still think its an excellent debut and i still enjoy the album so big happy birthday to what was the start of one hell of a career.

^^ Totally, I still love listening to it - it was the first album on vinyl I ever got, it’s seriously dated now obviously but like you say for those that were there for the era originally it’s pure nostalgia and I still love listening to the album now.

It was at the height of Kylie/Jason/Neighbours mania and will always hold a special place for me

Indeed the kylie, Jason, Scott charlene and neighbours was inescapable at the time whether you liked them or not but an era I will forever remember fondly and likewise with the album

I love made in heaven, while I like JNSPP I always preferred MIH real cheesy 80s pop at its best.

I'd love to know sales for MIH although I doubt we will ever get the info.

‘Made in Heaven’ would be in my Top 3 on the album if it had been included. As you say, it’s pure 80s pop joy! Can’t see it’s sales being more than 5k unfortunately though.

Sooooo many memories come flooding back…

Charlene , the Neighbours theme tune, Mrs Mangel, “Jason and Kylie - are they or aren’t they”, etc etc.

I kind of knew one day Kylie would drive out of Ramsay St but it was also hard to bear a year later knowing I’ll never see her twice a day.

I was soo gutted when charlene drove off in that green mini but innocent old me as a young fella had no idea what was coming long term for kylie and that I'd grow up the rest of my life listening to music from her and still enjoy it just as much 35 years later.

So 7x Platinum is 2.1m but official reports have stated it’s been over that for a while so why the certification now? Did PWL/BMG request it?

Released in neon pink and clear aquamarine vinyl editions to mark its 35th birthday, Kylie Minogue’s 1988 debut album Kylie re-enters the Top 75 (No.30, 3,675 sales) for the very first time since it completed its initial 67-week chart run – including six weeks at No.1 – in 1989. Also known as Kylie: The Album, it has to-date sales of 2,138,841.

Minogue’s debut album, Kylie, which remains her biggest seller with to-date sales of 2,142,128

^^ Looks like the BPI awarded a few older albums multi platinum awards, appears they were having a bit of a clean up and making certifications correct.

2,400,000 - 2,142,128 = 257,872

Its current rate of sales means it would take 36 years to make it to 2.4m lol~
