Snatched it all up :w00t: Iconic release!

Picture Disc Vinyl

Violet Vinyl

Marble Vinyl

Orange Vinyl (HMV/Indies Exclusive)

So pleased that they have put some effort into this and not made them limited to silly numbers.

The picture disc looks stunning.

Ooh at Amazon showing the back cover too! Nothing unexpected design wise, but still cool to see it. Interesting that the phonographic copyright years are both 1997 and 2003. I know the CD reissue was 2003 but I wouldn't have thought that year would have needed to be stated on the vinyl release (I know this observation is very unimportant lol). Also the vinyl has been manufactured in Germany. Nice usage of the 'K' logo on the back cover.

I'm wondering what the inner gatefold will look like. Maybe they'll use this picture? https://64.media.tumblr.com/4edbd059153e572...wpq3o1_1280.jpg

I wonder why there isn't a cyan colour vinyl?

Would love this!

I always find it interesting to see what song starts off Side 2 of a vinyl album and I feel like closing the first side with the slower 'Say Hey' and starting the second side with the intense 'Drunk' works really well! Much prefer one vinyl to the double LP where it's three or four tracks per side.

Jay you need to listen to the album!

So there are 4 variants so far?

Picture

Orange

Violet

Marble

i think Amazon may have some kind of exclusive coming hence waiting a while before uploading?

Could they add a CD/Cassette at a later date ?

I'll have to get a move on and do it! Though on the other hand maybe it could be fun to wait for the vinyl and have that be my first listening experience :o

Wasn't there inside info that there would be a cassette or did I make that up?

I thought the same that a new cassette was been issued, maybe it will be announced soon.

Also love the fact that it’s got its original title back ‘Impossible Princess’

I just thought, the first four albums reissued by Cherry Red & KM94 by BMG were all considered new entries by OCC rather than re-entries. So I guess that'll be the case with Impossible Princess too?

It'll look odd in her chart history to have 'Kylie Minogue' as a #10 in 1998 and then 'Impossible Princess' as a separate entry in 2022! Imagine if it actually made the Top 10, they would technically consider the same album as being two different Top 10s for her?

Seems to be a big demand - the Orange vinyl is now out of stock t Townsend, the same for the Violet vinyl at Rough Trade, both variants sold out at Strip Joint too.

whats the difference between the violet vinyl on Rough Trade and the exclusive Violet vinyl on her website? how is it exclusive?
The one on her website is plain violet and it’s the marbled one that’s available on her website and in indie stores

Thats a really positive sign and hopefully it means they will make more available.

I suspect 'Impossible Princess' will indeed be classed as a separate entry on her chart history (both for the fact it has a different title and released by a different label).

Music Week recognised the 2018 re-release of 'KM94' as a re-entry in their sales report at the time however, earlier this year, they referred to 'Infinite Disco' as Kylie's 31st Top 75 chart entry (a tally that includes the 2018 re-release of 'KM94' as a separate entry). We know that 'KM94' has two different sale totals as it was on 127k in 2019 when we got a big update from an inside source but was down to 125k in 2020 when Music Week revealed Kylie's album totals. I'm guessing the same will happen for 'Impossible Princess'.

Not sure what would happen if 'Impossible Princess' did reach the Top 10; I think they would acknowledge it is a re-release of the original album in their albums report but could still consider it another tally to her Top 10 albums.

Its easy to forget impossible princess charted as Kylie Minogue as we are so used to referring to it as Impossible princess ourselves.

So then if its classed as a new release it will break her run of number 1 consecutive albums .....???
