I suspect 'Impossible Princess' will indeed be classed as a separate entry on her chart history (both for the fact it has a different title and released by a different label).

 

Music Week recognised the 2018 re-release of 'KM94' as a re-entry in their sales report at the time however, earlier this year, they referred to 'Infinite Disco' as Kylie's 31st Top 75 chart entry (a tally that includes the 2018 re-release of 'KM94' as a separate entry). We know that 'KM94' has two different sale totals as it was on 127k in 2019 when we got a big update from an inside source but was down to 125k in 2020 when Music Week revealed Kylie's album totals. I'm guessing the same will happen for 'Impossible Princess'.

 

Not sure what would happen if 'Impossible Princess' did reach the Top 10; I think they would acknowledge it is a re-release of the original album in their albums report but could still consider it another tally to her Top 10 albums.

I know why the name was changed from Impossible Princess I’m the UK buy when was it reverted back to it? The 2003 re release?

Totally agree, the sainsbury exclusives were great to get but far too limited.

A little disappointed by that because I was hoping these formats would have a lengthy pre order run (i.e. have a lot of stock). I’m sure there’ll be many fans who’ve missed out? It wasn’t specified as being limited edition, but I’d say selling out in ~12 hours would class as extremely limited. Hmm!

Interesting info, thank you Liam! It’s a pity the sales totals will likely be separated officially, because it would have been so nice for the original sales to be boosted by a few thousand. But I hope Music Week will reference what its combined sales total is, in the week it charts.

I wish such releases weren't so limited, surely when they sell that quick it shows there is demand for more.

 

The Picture Disc always seems to be the most sought after/limited variant - the SBIT sold out immediately too.

 

I think with the amount of vinyl they have released they are probably focusing on the Orange and Violet variants that seem to be available most places and the Picture Disc and Marble vinyl are the limited variants.

 

I think they’ll be good availability of the album just not in every variation.

The violet is a couple of euro more expensive than the orange but its also much nicer.

I have pre-ordered the marble vinyl! Had the album on repeat yesterday too, can't wait for the artwork in vinyl glory when it arrives :wub:

The artwork will be stunning in vinyl format.

^^ The artwork is going to be a thing of beauty to finally see it in all its glory, can’t wait for the all of it but really looking forward to the picture disc.

Ya the picture disc will look class, I wonder will any format of the 3d artwork go into print as that for me would look absolutely class on vinyl.

Finally team Kylie have promoted the release on socials - they’ve also said more picture discs are coming soon! Guessing the demand took even them by surprise?
