Not sure what the hype is like for Loyle Carner?

 

The 1975 and RHCP release the week prior and could still be hanging around, plus the Mercury Music awards boost as all acts are either performing live on the night or have pre-recorded a live performance so that will give Harry Styles, Sam Fender etc., a boost.

 

I think sales will be higher than normal due to the period but with competition IP will chart lower (even though with the same sales at another point in the year it would have been an easy Top 10).

 

Ultimately whatever BMG have planned (and they’ve done a good job) they are putting a 25 year old readily available album up against new releases.

 

I’m confident of a Top 15/20 but I’m not getting over excited on its chart prospects - there will be almost zero interest from the general public and it’s achieved it’s aim of being a big cash driver for Kylie and BMG whist also giving the fans exactly what they want.

 

I expect Dry Cleaning have a fair shot at being ahead too (their last album debuted at #4 with 7k).

Literally can’t wait to get mine - I love that they have put some real effort into this release (although BMG done an incredible job with the quality and variations of the Disco vinyl releases too).

Just completed this 'Impossible Princess' interview which was featured on one of the CDs. She talks about the creative process and finishes with a track-by-track commentary.

 

 

 

Worth a listen!

Thanks for sharing those interviews as i dont think i have heard them before but i am going to listen in full in a short while.

The article is a reminder of how wrong the era originally worked for Kylie.

 

Reading it did bring back memories of the backlash and how the album was slated, its hard to believe how time really has been kind to this album, i think many people who may have slated it at the time may have a different opinion now.

Just 5 days to go until the vinyl is released!

 

I've still not listened to this album (other than the singles). :kink: I decided that hearing it for the first time on vinyl is bound to be an interesting experience, so I look forward to that!

You are missing some wonderful material by not having listened to it but you have lots to look forward to on your debut listen.

Can't wait to have it in my hands, the vinyl looks gorgeous! I've been listening to the album a lot the past few weeks and I feel it's been hitting even more than it has previously.

The artwork and the overall design of the vinyl has to be up there as one of her most stunning, so even without hearing it I knew I had to own it *.*

Will you be posting a song by song review?

I'm not sure if I'm very good at doing that, but we'll see!

 

By the way it's interesting that the picture disc has remained in stock for the past few weeks, when the original run sold out so quickly. Makes me wonder how many copies they ordered for the second run. Unfortunately there's no way of checking how much stock there is because it's limited to 2 copies in the basket.

 

I'm wondering if I'll receive the picture disc on the 21st. I ordered mine on 5th September, and although the item's page says "orders placed from 5th September 2022 will be dispatched at the end of November 2022", my order page now has a Royal Mail tracking number. We shall see :thinking:
