The fact that 'Pretty Girls' is not even going to be in contention to be the song leaving hurts my soul a bit. What an absolutely abhorrent song. x

I think the same about Rihanna that is literally one of the worse songs I have ever heard in my life I do not get for one second how it was so huge. Had that been released by anyone else it would have been an abysmal flop :puke2:

I used to feel the same about the song (it's grown on me a lot and I'd say it's a solid 8 now but it took a while :kink:) but I disagree with this! Rihanna's name didn't stop BBHMM and American Oxygen (especially) from flopping although I'd say BBHMM didn't do THAT bad, it just struggled being an OA/OS release at a time when most songs were held back, the video was too late and it got relatively weak airplay. And Kayne's had plenty of flop singles. It spent 11 weeks in the top 10 and is a million seller (including 500k pure sales which is very good for 2015 when they'd already started dropping) so I think it's appeal goes beyond the names involved.

FourFiveSeconds manages to work when it probably shouldn’t. I adore it, and it’s one of my favourites from Rihanna! I can take or leave a lot of Rihanna or Kanye songs but this has that special magic.
BBHMM has a crazy cultural impact. Wasn't it a big hit in the US (might have been an "under performance" of some sort but still did enough to be solidified as a "hit")? One of her very best.

Yes it's top 10 Rihanna  Yeah it's really well known despite the low (for the time) peaks. I think it struggled initially in the US because urban radio weren't picking it up as much as they could've but it did fine in the end, 2x platinum streaming behemoth :cheeseblock: A lot of Rih's songs didn't do amazing stuff on the UK chart but are still well known; Needed Me, Love On The Brain, Pour It Up, BBHMM, even the likes of What Now (why did that have a sudden resurgence in 2014 again? :eyes:) I'd say a lot of people would remember

Something about FourFiveSeconds really just doesn't work for me :( I don't hate it, I just find it a bit jarring. Overplay didn't help either I guess, and SO many artists seemed to perform a cover of it on tour  either them or their support act :')

This tbh. It was awful.

Pretty Girls is one of those it's so terrible I'd never choose to listen to it but when it's on I'm singing that chorus like a stan
I always thought I could ironically enjoy 'Pretty Girls' but listening to it along other 'worst' singles really highlighted how out-right terrible it actually is! :')

PG is a bit of a bop. I can't help but bop along to it. Granted, had it not had the Britney connection, I would've listened once and been like... nah, but Britney's power grabs a hold and doesn't let go for me. :')

That, Rudebox & Bitch I'm Madonna are all on the same level for me. I don't agree with the term "guilty pleasure" (nobody should feel guilty about liking any song) but it's general meaning fits perfectly. I know they're awful/generally bad songs, but I love them.

This is my thoughts
