I did wonder about whether including songs that reached the Top 100 sales-only chart would allow some AFs a little more choice.

Different rounds are gonna benefit some more than others. Last round gave a huge disadvantage to those with bigger discographies and lengthy careers for example (more time to have misfires/feature on a lot of random collabs/soundtrack singles that barely anyone care about etc..). :(

P.s. Dua's song isn't even that bad and I find it a tad underrated personally.

yeah especially in today's age where UK charts allows no more than 3 songs to chart from one artist at the same time!!!
I mean I'm not a mod or anything, but I do wonder if it should be consider that the rules are tweaked slightly for Zara and Dua so they at least have a choice and aren't forced to send a song in
Bearing in mind that nowadays there's no top 100 and 'below top 75' is literally 25 possible positions it seems very very arsh for Zara/Dua

Additionally few other artists would gain as well from their already long list of songs lol.

It definitely seems unfair that some forums literally don’t have a choice in what they send in, no matter how small? I get it’s hard to come up with lots of different themes though but I’m quite sad as Zara was doing so well!
I didn't realise Dua and Zara only had one choice, that does seem a little unfair. I feel like it could be extended to 'singles/songs that didn't make the top 75' so Dua could at least have Last Dance, New Love and Homesick. Zara has Only You, Wow etc.
Yeah like part of the whole fun of AF Idol is that everyone works together to pick a song so if there's no choice at all it kinda spoils it

This rule was put in place basically to prevent it from being just another free choice round and I didn't want to make it just singles so I thought it'd be easier to just say "a song that charted in the 76-200 region". I didn't realise some forums only had one choice (I don't follow the charts beyond my faves really ) so I'm sorry about that.

We are talking about this bts. We'll get back to you all asap!

We've CONFERRED and have decided to amend the rules slightly.

AFs may now submit ONE of the following:

- An album track that charted within #76-200.

- A fully promoted* single that missed the top 75 - this can include songs that missed the chart entirely.

That opens things up a little more for those feeling restricted, and applies to ALL AFs! Every song in the list in post 2 is eligible + any fully promoted single that failed to chart, basically.

Dua Lipa mods - as you've already confirmed, on this one occasion, we'll allow you to reconfirm if you so wish. If we don't hear from you by the deadline, we'll assume you're sticking with your confirmed song ^_^

* this means no radio-only singles!

We're definitely going to reconfirm. Thanks in advance! I mean, if it's considered that we only had an option, I thought it was better to send the PM because I wasn't expecting that there were going to be some modifications during the current round.
I'm guessing they'd need to be UK singles? But trying to define that is a minefield.

I would think 'Put It In A Love Song' doesn't count since that was clearly skipped over/cancelled (except in Australia, where it was a genuine hit, and ironically the only hit from Alicia's album). I actually considered suggesting it for the 'songs without videos' round but thought it probably wasn't a better option than the ones she had.

I love 'Party' and there's probably more of a case for it counting, since it had a video and the J. Cole single version, and probably wouldn't have done anything in the UK even if it had been ~promoted to radio~ (hence why they didn't bother trying - or maybe they did to no result, for all we know?). But even then it could just be classified as a US-only single.

^ The expanded rules may help P!nk, but I don't know what counts.

'Dear Mr. President' was a 'single' that didn't chart, but I'm assuming it has to be UK singles, and it's safe to say it wasn't one. 'Glitter In The Air' was just a US Hot AC/AC radio single I believe so that's almost certainly ruled out.

However, there are 'Whatever You Want' and 'Secrets'. It's a stretch to say they were promoted, but they both received music videos (I believe) and remix EPs, which is about all you could expect from post-album singles that clearly wouldn't get playlist support/chart success either way. (Even in Australia where both were radio hits, they spent a while each in the iTunes chart but never actually made the official top 100, apart from 'Whatever You Want' when it was an instant grat.)

^ Help me. Do they need to be UK singles, and if so, how do you define that?

No, they can be singles anywhere as long as it matches the criteria!
