Welcome to week 9 of the quizzes and it’s a return of FAMILY FORTUNES

My first time hosting and I’m pretty excited but nervous!

The rules are that you’re trying to get the most popular answer! I have 20 questions for the quiz all of which are pretty much based across the UK charts although a small number are to do with our version of the Grammys the BRIT awards!

I’ll be accepting answers up until Sunday 31 May at 2pm. I’ll then do the results on the evening but this will now likely take place

over two days as I’ve had a lot of entries and it’ll take a while calculating the results.

All questions are based on the UK charts.

I’ll accept answers from any chart year unless specified in the question as long as they fit the question.

Accepting answers from the most up to date UK top 40 at the time of any answers being submitted (so that’ll be up to the chart which took place on 22 May as that’s the most recent chart what took place when I first had answers and I want everyone to have the same advantage). Any answers will be accepted if they fit for charts up till May 22 (even if a rare instance happens and as of May 29 someone doesn’t fit that question no more as a result of the May 29 chart).

QUESTIONS

1. Name a sugababes single released at a time Heidi Range was part of the groups line up.

2. Name a #1 single by an X Factor contestant who didn’t win their series of the show.

3. Not including Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia, name a studio album by a female artist what spent more than one week at #1 in total

(consecutive or non consecutive) but didn’t debut at #1.

4. Name a UK #1 single from the year 2009.

5. Name any UK top 40 single released by a member of One Direction as a solo artist (accepting answers what have featured artists on just as long as it’s not an actual 1d song)

6. Name any Canadian artist (male / female / group) with either a UK #1 single or album can be either single or album if they have one but not the other, but accepting answers if they’ve done both too)

7. Name any UK artist with at least two #1 singles but NO Brit Awards.

8. Name a track from Ed Sheerans album Divide.

9. Name an artist who’s won the critics choice award at The BRITs. (This can also be the Rising Star award as it’s been re named).

10. Name a female act (can be solo or group) with at least three top ten albums but just one chart topping album in the UK. (The album can be a studio album or a Greatest Hits just as long as they’ve topped that chart just once in total).

11. Name an album released by any artist (male, female, group) what has spent a year inside the UK top ten (can be consecutive or non consecutive)

12. Name a Michael Jackson song what peaked on or between #2 and #10 in the UK. (Basically a non #1 top ten single)

13. Name a male artist who’s had two (or more) uk #1 singles in a chart year (will accept answers what are #1s where artist is a feature)

14. Name a studio album with a #1 debut in the UK but what just one week inside the UK top ten.

15. Name a top 40 hit released by Eminem in the 00s decade. (he can be lead artist or featured)

16. Name a UK top 40 single by Christina Aguilera she can be lead artist or featured)

17. Name any track what peaked at either #11 or #41 in the UK (chose just one!)

18. Name an artist who has featured on a single or album track by Jay Z (where he is the lead artist) what peaked inside the UK top 40.

19. Name any artist with at least 2 #1 singles in the UK but no #2 peaking singles

20. Name a female artist with no UK #1 singles but at least two #1 albums in the UK.

All questions are based on the UK charts.

For question 8, the song can be any song from the album as every single song charted it doesn’t need to have had an official single push / a music video.

For question 10, any artist who’s female or any all female group will be accepted and the #1 album can be any album through their career from their debut to their most recent as long as they just have one chart topping album but three or more top ten albums.

For question 13, a chart year basically I mean a calendar year. So say someone has two number ones in 2009 use that but not for example #1 in aug 2009 and another one in March 2010.

For question 14, no greatest hits compilations type albums just studio albums only.

For question 17, pick either a #11 track or a #41 track but not both! Giving you guys / girls a choice :)

PM answers.

I'm not quite sure what this bit means? "(can be either single or album bother they’ve done both)"

I’ve fixed that. Basically they can have both single and album or just one of those.

Reminder that May 22 (the chart just gone) is the cut off point charts wise for this quiz as I’ve already had some answers. If you’re planning on answering this after Fridays when we get the new chart pls ignore the new chart and refer to up till May 22.
Just wondering, can number 9 include the Rising Star award (what the Critics Choice was renamed to this year)? :)

Yes!! I’ll edit the first post too but saying as it is the same thing I’ll accept that.

Still not completely sure what you mean by this:

6. Name any Canadian artist (male / female / group) with either a UK #1 single or album can be either single or album if they have one but not the other, but accepting answers if they’ve done both too)

Do you just mean any Canadian artist who's had a UK #1 single or album?

Yeah! Essentially anyone Canadian who’s had a #1 on any chart.

Entered, really struggled with some of these qs especially the album ones!

And couldn't find anything for #3 sadly. Let's see how we do all the same ^_^

Thanks for all entries so far! Quite a lot for my first one!

The results of this may take a while to calculate but I will start the reveal of answers tomorrow although this will run into Monday as I’m collecting 20 rounds of points from almost 30 people (with more still to come too!)

Best of luck everyone :)
