It's a decent result considering Palace are doing well too!

Southampton are basically the new Aston Villa. Sold their best players, didn't reinvest, stability in the club went and now will probably be in the Championship quite soon.

Newcastle have won back-to-back Premier League games for the first time since April.

Liverpool and Villa wins could leave the Premier League looking rather boring. 8 point gaps between 1st and 2nd and 4th and 5th, and the bottom 3 5 points adrift.
VAR robbed Sheffield United of two extra points against Tottenham. I do wonder if Sheffield United will have that inevitable drop down the table a la Hull City and Crystal Palace.
They will do well this year but next year when clubs work them out will be more of a challenge.
Watford registered their first Premier League win at the 12th attempt in 2019-20 and ended a run of 15 league games without a victory, stretching back to April.
United has a superb game today, score line flatters Brighton a bit as we missed a couple of absolute sitters including an open shot at goal. Fred looks like a completely new player, unreal
Liverpool are really in control of this match!

Great win for Liverpool - the title isn't over by a long stretch as we will drop points at some point soon, probably over Christmas. But a massive gap now and a hard test for City considering they look painfully average at the back. They need to be nearly flawless again and win 10+ games in a row, which they are capable of but some tricky fixtures coming up now on paper.

Fabinho - wow, what a player!

Good win for United against Brighton today, Martial and Rashford linked up well numerous times during the match and we could have scored a lot more than 3 if we were more clinical as we had 21 shots on goal and we missed some real sitters, especially a chance that Rashford had where the goal was open. Hopefully Scott McTominay's injury isn't too bad and he'll back in good health by 2 weeks time when we play Sheffield United which is bound to be a tough match given the form they're in.

We have a tough Xmas with Leicester away (they're the second best team in the league for me) and then united and Spurs consecutively in January!

Hope we use the World club tournament as a mini mid season break in the warm weather and of course win it!!

Leicester away on Boxing Day will be tough, but the Christmas period is tough for all the teams. Least we have a much deeper squad. And Man Utd at home I am not too worried about, Spurs away maybe different too but they are bang average this year. Obviously problems somewhere (Eriksen).

All banter and rivalry aside it's hard to see Liverpool throwing it away now, last season there was always an inevitable feeling that they wouldn't win it even when they were on the verge of going 10 points ahead but it looks like winning the Champions League has given them a new level of confidence this time. If Liverpool lose it from here then they are truly cursed!
Pep Guardiola will face no action from the Football Association for his actions during the defeat by Liverpool on Sunday.

Last season was just crazy, I don't think we will ever see anything like that again. Teams not dropping points during the run-in is unheard of before last year.

Certainly the result yesterday puts us in a great position. There is still ages to go and if any team is capable of winning 24 out of 26 games it's Manchester City. I just don't even think this current Liverpool team is at its peak this year so far, it was after the November international break last year when we started to play well consistently. Don't want to start saying anything yet, but I really do think it would take a monumental screw up for us to blow it (which has happened to us before ). I think the problems might come if we keep being unbeaten as give it a few weeks and there will be talk of us going unbeaten throughout the season- which won't happen.

Your upcoming fixture pile-up is insane. If you can get through that relatively unscathed (in both results and injury to personnel) then I think it'll be your season but despite the easiness of the games on paper you're playing every single mid-week until January or something.

I really don't think City will win anywhere near as many games this season with Laporte & Ederson both out. Their attacking players simply aren't stepping up enough to cover for that on the evidence so far...

Bernardo Silva has been banned for one match and fined £50,000 after an FA commission accepted he "did not intend" a tweet about team-mate Benjamin Mendy to be "racist".
